Valentine's Day Haiku
Genre: Video HaikuRules: Create a Valentine's Day themed VIDEO HAIKU! A video haiku is a 3 shot film. 1st shot is 5 sec, next shot is 7 sec, final shot is 5 seconds. SEE EXAMPLES HERE: http://bit.ly/s34Fmc
Very cool intro, goes a tad long, but it's got some good editing (David Lehre-ish I'd say). Be careful when you do dialogue shots from a long distance, becomes very hard to hear. Hah ... a naked running guy! Nick is crazy!!! ("One you nekkkid!!") Hah! I like that guy. Back to the big house for him. I found this pretty entertaining, watch the wind noise when you're shooting, and if there's too much wind, try to get as close as you can to the actors. I give it a solid 7/10
An entry from the ever-delightful Ken O !!! Always appreciated! Hehe, nothing like some guitar hero to spice up a film. I've had many an awesome track ruined by phone calls.
I don't know if I agree with the fade in from the credits ... but that's just me being picky.
Are these guys really comic book fans? Have you thought about making a comic book show for our site pulpsecret.com?
Michigan looks really nice this time of year.
That's a cool, and huge house!
I like your shot direction on this, done very well! -- Oh snap! It's a Ken O cameo!!! Nice rant Ken! Tell those comic bookers who's boss. ("Do drugs") haha! ("Asshat!") super slam. Whoa, you look pretty tough Ken O. I wouldn't fuck with you. Ken shows us all he can do a longer-ish distance shot and have the audio still sound impeccable! Bravo sir! Was that a lav or a shotgun? One of my favorite entries in a LONG time, 10/10 !!
Hey! Sin Films again! I love you guys!
Good call on the subtitling when we couldn't hear properly. Subtitles should always be busted out if needed. What the heck is going on with that clown ?? Is that beenping from a microwave ?? I thought the microwave was going off in my house. The standard censor beep is actually the same as the 'bars and tone' preset found in most editing programs. Just look that up, drop it in, remove the video layer and censor stuff with that beep. Using the microwave sound is kind of weird, hehe.
I'd suggest putting some shading on those subtitles in the forest scene. Forests can wreak havok on video compression. -- hah, "Fun" -- crafty!!!
In camera zooms, especially when you're not using a camera that can do a true quickzoom, are discouraged. You don't see them on TV for a reason, they're too slow.
It's great you got an older person to actually play the cop - much better than a friend, more believable. A clown with a gun! Snaps! Just another day for the clown cops, I guess. Why didn't you use the clown cops title with music at the start of the flick? Would have worked better.
While it went a little long, you did a lot of things right in this video! I'll give it a 7/10
