"The Egg" by Axe Bros Productions - Reviewed on October 2nd, 2007

First off, sorry I had to re-compress this. The player gets a little whack if it;s bigger than 640x480.

LOVE the stomping shot. Could probably be cut a little quicker, or maybe fade a little longer. The shot with the hand is great too. Is that like an egg with a penis ?? Sort of confusing. You had some good sound, solid shots, I just felt it was a bit too short and simple to be HW. I by no means didn't enjoy it for what it was, though. I think you could pull together something very cool next time!

"The Egg" by Fu Manchu Productions - Reviewed on October 2nd, 2007

Welcome Fu Manchu!!!!

I like the kind of 'fuzzy film' effect you had in the first couple shots. When you switch to the more grainy liney effect ... I just hate that effect ... it's a mess.

I suggest getting some gun barrel effects from detonationfilms.com - it's super easy and cool.

Your voice over is a little 'blotty' - make sure you're not too close to the mic or blowing right onto it. Levels are high on the eggs too. Hell, maybe it's all on purpose.

The egg turning and having a big stache - so good :) Love that.

"Richard Egg is John Egg" - hehe.

A nice little nugget of a film, I see potential, not quite HW material off the bat though.

"The Egg Trailer" by Blue Smoke Films - Reviewed on October 2nd, 2007

Ech, damnit, this one still looks like it's the wrong resolution. Make sure to download to see correctly. I tried a couple times to fix it, to no avail. Might have to get another version.

Like the music, some decent shot composition. Your pacing is almost perfect. Careful with those audio levels on the girl's lines. Not a bad film, I just didn't think it had the oomph of the others. Slightly more time on the post production, and maybe some more shot variety would have helped. Should fix this soon!

Sorry I had to re compress this too. The video size was too big for our picky player. Some kickASS graphics in this. Is that intro just a bunch of AFX 3d layers with good lighting? It's great.

I love how you say "eggs"

You're missing a frame in the 'egg person' segment at the start. Becareful with those afx layers. Use the 'shift-drag' option to make sure they're clicking to the right track.

You're hilarious man. All these green screen segments are so full of energy, you made this thing work. Watch those audio levels. If you're in a studio area you should invest in a better or closer mic. I'd love to see the audio quality match the great FX work. If you just redubbed your lines with the same mic you used for the VO you'd be rocking this even more. The clone you shot freaking rocks.

Your plot ... probably not very well explained, but the video makes up for it in intensity and creativity. HOORAY! I'm SO excited for what you do next!!!

"The Egg" by Quizibuck Films - Reviewed on October 2nd, 2007

LOVE the first shot. "Every day average ... egg" - perfect perfect timing. The silly little "noooo" is cute too.

I wish you would have used old chicken stock footage for the targeting shot. Would have been funnier than adding in an animated element to an otherwise unanimated movie.

That last zoom with the tiny gun. GREAT. The first and last shot is why I made this a HW. Good attention to detail and a quick fun watch. I was debating between HW and LW on this one, but in the end, it was short enough and sassy enough to deserve it. Good work!

"The Egg" by Spare Parts - Reviewed on October 2nd, 2007

Hah, love the green title card at the start. HATE the yelling of the 'spare parts productions' - that's a part of the reason it's LW'ed. Way too loud and annoying for something at the start. Maybe at the end ... not before the movie.

That 2nd egg sounds like Griffin ... it's not Griffin right?

Some good lines. I like the 'uncooked egg' line. The slide fade on the text is cool, I'd suggesting you slowly zoom the text for added effect. I love all these broken/dying eggs in the movies. Hehe. You don't need your text on the screen any longer than the speaking voice ... no point since we'll already have heard the words.

This was a fun film, good energy, just not quite right to play with the HWs this week. Super solid LW though. Change that intro sound!!!

AWESOME voice over. Who ever did this has some skills.

The spin shot on the egg is soooo goood. Fantastic use of sound effects to make it extra crazy. Bingo bingo.

After the first section I feel it loses a little steam. The shots should be cut quicker, you don't need as many angles especially for a trailer.

I'm not a fan at all of sped up footage. You never see that in real trailers ... or real movies. Maybe in cheesy tv shows. It's best to do a '300' type effect where you only slow up a specific part. Also, use a tripod or set the camera on the ground if you're planning on making it go all fast. Sloppy fast mo can ruin a film.

Haha, the last shot is so good. You guys rock, just tighten up the editing a bit and get rid of the spazzy fast mo and you're golden. Who did that voice over ?!?! I commend thee.

"The EGG Worldly War IV^2" by Operation: KillDie Productions - Reviewed on October 6th, 2007

Sound effects on the FF intro, very fun!

Time to dig in on this great flick.

There's something beautiful and surreal about the eye and mouth method on this. Especially the shot with the two Nazi eggs. Kind of interesting that some eggs don't have eyes and faces. I like that the widescreen shakes when things impact, that's a cool way of doing it.

Awesome stop motion work with them running out of the carton. Why is the fire squished when the bomb goes off early on? Looks odd. Shot of the broken egg screaming could be one of my favorites.

That little bit of fire in the background of the 'private' scene -- added digitally, right?

Great shot with the yolk in the water.

I don't know if I agree with the nuke shot. I would have liked to see some eggs in the foreground, or some kind of bit leading up to that (egg scientists, etc).

Too bad you couldn't actually shoot it more like Pvt. Ryan -- shaky cam etc. I know that'd be a bitch to do ... too much motion capturing. But I think it'd be more funny that way.

Love this!

Love the smoke! How did you get it to be so thick and cool looking?

Really unfortunate that the audio is so bad on the early dialogue. Would have really bumped this one to the next level. If the audio was better.

Man this soundtrack pro music is really starting to get overplayed! I probably never would have noticed until I got the program myself ... and I'm certainly guilty of using these same songs too :)

Don't know if this is exactly a trailer ... I like that we both have similar fridge shots.

End sequence could use some more audio.

LOVE your title. Puns are so great. Very close to being an excellent entry.

"Hitler's Egg" by Futuresphere Pictures Lmd - Reviewed on October 6th, 2007

I love Operation Paperclip - I recall reading about that. Well, I don't love it ... it was pretty evil.

Some great clips you found here - were they from just a couple movies or a whole bunch of things? That eyeball egg part is downright freaky.

"IT COMES FOR YOU!" is just a great section ... love the faux 3d vision too. Awesome background with the eye.

You've really got this style DOWN.

The "futuresphere" logo at the end is pitch perfect!! Did you design that?
