So, a bit long for my tastes, we don't need to see this guy go through all the motions at the start. Let's get to the MEAT! Just jump cut from action to action, all the walking inbetween isn't needed. We don't need to understand every nuance of the space he's in. I can also see the camera shadow a bit when he walks towards the screen.

I can see you're trying to play towards the lonesomeness of the whole scenario. The music is great. Very lonesome! Ha, nice mustard heart! Making things out of mustard is the best. Whoa man, that's a dark shot. Should have boosted the brightness of the TV a bit or faked it with blue-gel'ed lights. Or just bumped it up in color correction.

The dialogue from the TV is awesome, good work on that! Sounds good, adds a lot to that scene.

Weird shot when the other guy shows up - wicked facial hair though. I would have shot it from behind the other guy so you could see the main character's reaction.

Your audio quality is pretty weak, always a good idea to get very close up shots if nothing else but for just the audio you could overlay on the father shots.

Why fake the slow motion fear reaction? Why not really make it slow motion?

"You look good" ha - nice.

Dude, sandwiches, all about the sandwiches!

Seemed to kind of wander around without much of a point - wait, how'd he get them dates?

Pancake rave party?! Whoa, sounds awesome. Why wasn't I invited?!

Anyway. I liked the characters in this, had a good start before it got too goofy, good range of actors, the TV scene was cool but not lit properly. Could have been closer to 2 or 3 minutes and held the same meaning, though I guess it really made us care about the sandwich - seeing him make it for like 2 minutes, hah.

Pull together a tighter script and some better audio and I'll see you next fight!

Thanks a bunch for the feed back! We really appreciate it. We'll definitely take everything you said into account for our future films. Yeah, unfortunately we don't have a lighting kit and on top of that my camera sucks in low lighting situations but hopefully we'll be able to fix these issues very soon. Haha yeah pancake and rave parties are the best! I'll be sure to send you an invite next time!

So, I don't think this was made for our particular fight. I can see the loneliness angle ... but no film fights intro ../ uhh plus you made it in April of last year, hah. So, BUSTED. Film fights is about making original videos, which is why I threw this light weights.

But, I'm going to review the film anyway.

Your color correction is a bit different from each of your shots - the blacks are blacker in the shots of the suicidal dude.

"... from a guy who has no balls!" nice.

Where did you shoot this? Some crazy back room?

Oh, I gotta give you props for having some good beer in there. Good selections. I'm a beer snob myself to some degree.

A musical montage!

Wow, this is devolving into madness! You actually had a sort of dramatic introduction to this. Would have been nice to see you carry on with it instead of goin' nuts.

Whoa fake blood!! WTF

Nice blood tossing! Haha, gotta have a good sport to get doused in that much blood and not crack a smile.

Hey! You guys should make something original for FF! This film was fucked up but it still made me smile. See you next fight!

Some good shots at the start here. I like the one-shot of them getting into the house. The spinning and all that.

Whoa! Nice ugly chick shot, haha. Dude, getting too close with your manpanties to the camera. Is that a mullet? EWWWW uhhh whaaat, wow. Gross. Gross!

Yeah this had nothing to do with the month's topic. Make an original film for Film Fights!

Great location! You know what they say ... location location location.

I see some auto exposure when he flips on the lights - auto exposure sucks. Or maybe it's just my faulty eye.

Gross, eating on the ground. Intense.

I like your choice of actors, oh man, that guy is seriously messed up.

Oh yeah, definately auto exposure as the woman walks into the room. Best to lock that down if you've got the option.

Sounds like you did some research on this one - is this somewhat what the process is like?

The cut after he says "I love you" is a rather impersonal angle, why not a shot of the woman looking shocked or angry? I feel like you lost a bit of the impact of the scene with that shot choice.

You audio cutting is a bit rough - wow, that nurse is a bitch! I'd like to have seen more screaming and like, intensity when he's dying. Sort of abrupt. Heck a lot of things going right in this film though, great effort - tell me more about the shooting and the location!

"Mr Lonely" by Kings of Reel - Reviewed on March 13th, 2009

Sorry I'm getting to this review so late ...

I like the old timey overlay - was that from Video Co Pilot or something? Looks good, also helps sell the chroma keying a bit better by dirtifying the image.

Dogs kissing calendar? Gross. GO FIND A GIRL MR LONELY! GO GET ER. Ha ha, I like the walking scene. That walking is great. Every time I see it ... great.

Ha, I also like the cutting of the film. Whoa is that a real background? No it cant be ... for him to hand him the flower you must have just had them next to each other the whole time ... and then he walks in place ... and then pretend to pass her and get to her. Yes ... that must be your trickery.

Skinny guy vs phonebook!

Hot chicks in black dresses!

Music seems too quiet at 4:19is h section. Damn was that a Verizon phone guy that just owned him? Aw, dirty sailor love .. Ha that sailor looks like Pat Cassells from CollegeHumor! The zoom in wasn't quite so perfect with the background but whatev. I liked this on the whole. Sorry again for the review taking so long.
