Oooh, nice prop. This big guy scares me a little. It's that fake accent. I kinda' thought it would be a girl. This character really creeps me out. I think that was the intention though.
The voice got a little old after a while. I'm not a fan of fade transitions between scenes. I think a good cut to an exterior shot really works a bit better.
Pretty girls. Still creeped out. The shot structure is pretty solid. But, this is taking a really long time to get to the action. That girl looked not as scared as she does disinterested. "Oh, guess I should run now." Crazy music. I like it. Makes me uncomfortable. As has most of this movie so far. Which is definitely a good thing. All these scenes are really going on too long.
Where you guys from? This looks a lot like Iowa, where I'm from. Good death. Although I don't know how she got blood on her hand if she was shot in the back. That would suck to get dragged. She's a trooper. Voice is still irritating. I understand what you were going for. But, I really got tired of it after a while. Long shot on the label. A bit too long.
Ending thoughts: Cool concept. But, I probably woulda' cut the movie in half. I liked the credits, and the shots all looked really good. It had a strange vibe, and for the most part I thought the actors did good. The vibe was there, but my short attention span just couldn't keep connected.
Thanks for submitting! Hope I see you guys next month!
I guess she could get blood on her hand by feeling the exit wound before she went down.
Exactly. Thanks for coming to my defense Bryan Fox

Bryan Fox. That name sounds really familiar. Are you an old filmfighter?
Cool opening shot. Seems to be a trend of dead girls in this week's fight. You kids have sick minds. Very tarrintino opening. Bad voiceover on the phone scene, and this is a little too shotty. Nice locations. The music works well. This voice over is really taking me out of the movie. I would've at least added a effect to it when he wasn't in the shot. The guy on the phone isn't doing too good.
Drugs and mafia is kind of a overused short film concept. That, i've been gulity of on my own a few times. G'z you kids and your long films now a days. In my day, we had like a 4 minute time limit. This scene is super hard to see, and really dry. Next time you guys should really try to stick to the time limit. The main actor isn't too bad. Oh wow. Worst getting attacked acting ever. I don't know if that was on purpose. But, wow. That was cheesy. Yay zombie girl! I like zombies. I woulda' like to have seen about 1 minute of setup to her becoming a zombie, and about 4 minutes of sweet zombie action though.
Closing thoughts: Shot pretty well. But, the voice over lost my interest right away. Shoulda' had a lot more sweet zombie action!
Thanks for submitting!
Yeah. I'm an old filmfighter. I only submitted one movie in the Wannabe fight back in 2005. There never was a time limit so you can't bash me for that. Jeremy's criticism about tightening up scenes makes sense though.
You know, you're right about the drugs and mafia thing being overused. The last filmfight I did used both as well as the movie I made before that. I don't think it's going to improve with the detective theme for next month.
That's true. It's an interesting genre, and they're fun to make. But, it's definitely a indy film making cliche, a bit. I hope people come up with some clever ways to try and stay away from that for the next fight. It's gonna' be tough.
I just shot our entry for May tonight. We managed to stay completely away from drugs and mafia with this one (doesn't mean you can't other things from the early 1900's).
Sometimes funny. What a great meeting of minds. I feel a bit biased, but this film is pretty awesome. Kyle, Justin and Mike all working on a movie together. Who'd've thought this day would happen? I love how quickly Mike replies to her text. The shots look amazing. It's good to see a really well shot black and white movie. I like the pause on the "Sure" Like even the killer is a bit weirded out by it. The shots of her dialing the phone with her nose look great. I'd say for the most part this is a pretty good use of the name "Sometimes Funny" Cuz that's exactly what it is. Sometimes funny. Sometinmes it's full of awesome action packed seriousness..ness. Really great to see you guys working together, and thanks for the little AIM shoutout. haha

Really cool opening shot. I really like it when movies don't start with a credit. That voice over thing was really weird. But, I loved the guy falling on his bike. Nice touch. The shots in this look really cool.Especially since you guys seem so young. This is the third film i've watched with a person being the 'special delivery' I'm glad I didn't shoot my concept about the pregnant woman. This shot structure is really nice, and the editing is crisp. Cool music for most of it. I couldn't understand what the guy said. I like the guy getting jumped. Wow, really exciting action. This is fun to watch. As great as this is, I really hope it calms down a bit soon... and right after I said that, it did. Nicely done. Awesome kick in the face. The sound effects for parts of this seem spot on. But, on some part seem unnatural. It would suck so bad to get kicked in the face. Ouch. Woulda' liked to've seen just a bit of blood in all that violence. Cool music at the end. Goofy ending shot.
Closing thoughts: I think you were being a biittt flexible with the title. One second of "Special delivery" isn't really enough for me. I would've liked the chase to be more of a "I have to deliver this shit fast" sort of thing. But, overall one of the better movies of the week. Shots were good, editing was tight. Nicely done.
a lot of people seem to think the special delivery line is a voice over... but it isn't maybe the audio is not synced in final cut... nope looks perfect i don't know why it looks like that though.
i think i actually stuck with the title and description pretty well: the main character is presented with a "special delivery" he wasn't expecting. Thrill us and include a good action sequence
the action sequence is caused beacause this guy got this delivery he wasn't expecting
but anyway thanks for commenting.
I agree. The main character was presented with a delivery he wasn't expecting and there was the optional chase scene. It fit the bill fine.

First thing. This is.. 9 minutes!? C'mon. We really need to stop letting such long movies in. Gross ass. Cool to see you guys used a BFX tutorial. It definitely looks like you guys know what you're doing though. Shot structure is nice, and I like the pink house. I like the delayed "nife" comment. The voices are kind of hard to hear. Might wanna' get a new mic. I may not watch this whole thing honestly. It looks cool, but I have a short attention span, and 9 minutes is gonna' kill my brain. The acting is really good so far. I scrolled away and looked at the reviews for a bit, but came back 2 minutes later and still know what's going on, that's a good sign that your scene is a bit too long. I like the ring tone. There's a lot of zombies, and dead people this week. G'z kids! I like the idea of "I'm not gonna' be here" too late. I've done that before. haha. Nice green to pink shots. I likey. Very zombie vibe. Is Obama gonna' talk about Zombies? I don't remember that speech. This is picking up a bit now. Too bad it took 7 minutes to get there. Really cool shot of the zombie a the window. That's a frightening ass fucking zombie. I think i'd be scared of that dude if he wasn't. He's a big mofer. Cool punches too. Now, again. 7 minutes of this. Maybe woulda' liked it a bit better. Grosss head stab. Love it. Cool fight scene. Nice music. Cool shot through the mask. Nice ending.
Overall: This woulda' been great had it been about 5 minutes shorter. Seriously coulda' had my vote. But, it really needed a good amount more of editing done to it. Nice shots, acting, and music. Just woulda' benefitted signifigantly from getting cut down.
Thanks for submitting! Hope I see you guys next month.

WMV is dead. Go to youtube or Vimeo already. I lack the accents. Thes guys have a cool look. I like the vibe of this movie so far, the music really helps that. Usualy I'm completely against gangster movies, but this feels different, and the actors are older, and good. This movies awesomely silly. A bit of a no recoil gunshot. haha Cool gunshot effects for sure. Kind of vite the silly vibe. Your one gangster needs to learn how to fake shooting a gun better. Kind of an awkard pan shot from the dead body up.
Overall:Cool movie, not much story really. But, I really enjoyed the accents, and vibe of the flick. Probably coulda' been shot a bit better. But, the rest of it made up for it. One of my favorites of the week for sure.
