The Expendables
Genre: AnyRules: You know that AMAZING ACTION movie coming out? Called "The Expendables"? We want your take on the TITLE of the movie; what else or who else is expendable? No action allowed.
First of all, it's nice to see an entry that was shot on film. And my time was over the limit too. Sometimes you run over in such a way that it will ruin your film to cut down much more. My entry was closer to 10 mins at first, got it to nearly 7, couldn't have gotten to 4. Anyway, your actor really looks out of an old movie to me. And I love anything dealing with split or fractured personalities. The mirror gag is classic. My only complaint is the audio, but I understand the trouble with it. This is my favorite lightweighted entry.
hey thanks a lot! yeah, I made the stupid mistake of forgetting to put the voice over audio in both channels. Originally, this movie was about 11 minutes and I was forced to cut it to around 7 but I'm happy I did since the longer version was incredibly boring ha
Haha, gotta love elements beyond your control... the kids playing in the park in the back ground of your kidnap scene. Okay, so this wasn't bad. My biggest biff is that it seems to have no post-production sound at all. No sound fx, no music except your opening. The basement scene (or whatever that room was) could've definitely used some dread music to compliment your somewhat twisted ending. I do like the concept and you have a pretty tight shot selection.
I really like the color scheme you used. The music you used is great. Love French films, bytheway! Amusing plot. Very good shot selection.
But my problem was that I feel this is way too fast paced. It feels like a trailer. I allowed my film to run over the limit and took the consequences of that just to avoid this. It feels like your story is crammed into the project's length. I think for a detective mystery it might have been better to have had a longer time limit.
Anyway, enjoyed this one a bunch. Nice job.
'tis a good point, but i think justin made the time limit so short to make it more challenging (the film fights way) but i kind of agree that a longer limit would have been more appropiate :-)
yeah... the main reason I didn't make this fight was the time limit, I just couldn't come with anything short and original and I didn't felt like being lighweighted
This was just awesome. Nice twist. The very end greatly amused me. You most likely have my vote in the heavyweights.
Nice film. Just some audio issues, but not so much that it distracted me. Very porno music at the beginning. Lol. I love your actor for the doctor. He was making me laugh a lot.
You'll love him in the next movie then.
Oh this one had me laughing the whole time! I love the reverse prejudice your character has. Seems to be an underlying commentary about that. Am I right? I think this is my favorite. Yeah, it is. You got my vote.
Now for criticism, I'd just say the old-film effect is a bit too loud. But that's my only gripe.

"Woo Hoo! Thank you to all of you who voted for our film. We are really excited as well as surprised by the win. With all the obstacles we faced in this fight we feared it wouldn't be as greatly acceptedd as it turned out to be.
We are very happy that we were able to fight our way up, with your help, from Middleweights to this. We are looking forward to the coming fights and hope we can continue producing quality films for your entertainment. Thanks for the compitition and we hope you all keep bringing it.
Special Thank You's: Audra - for helping on such short notice. Everyone who said we needed to be bumped up a weight class. Jake- For overseeing the whole operation in Justin's absence.
"That's a Wrap".
