Damn, this is clever! Must be a big gamble to let the content of your film depend almost entirely on the reactions of random people, but it pulled off and there are some great and interesting responses. Love the idea! :D
It goes without saying that your films always look amazing but... yeah, this film looks amazing! :P And you did a great job of keeping everybody in focus considering all the interviews were (presumably) spontaneous and on-the-fly.
Focus was a bit of a nightmare, haha - since I was holding the mic with one hand and the camera with the other ... I had to move back and forth to keep the subject focused. And even then since aperture was up so the focal range was a tiny sliver. Thank god for compression!
this films video quality made me poop my pants i want to get the camera now haha! very good, i love those kind of montages ... Great work!
Don't poop your pants!!!
This is so sincere and deadpan that you almost convinced me that it I was watching a serious documentary! Love the ending, I burst out laughing when it cut to the ambulance. This is so completely nutty it's brilliant! :P
So money can't buy good ideas, but you guys persevered and got a video out of it. Kudos! Some pretty random stuff in there, "narcolepsy is a bitch" made me laugh. Hope you overcome your writer's block!
I like the idea in this one! It was a little slow-paced, but it was clever and funny too. "I bet you can't buy world peace... that's pretty expensive", that cracked me up! A few tips: you could definitely do with better lighting. Try and get some clamp lights or little 150W flood lights - just something a little more powerful than overhead room lighting. It will make your films look so much better! I guess you're just using the built-in mic on your camera? You could also invest in a shotgun microphone, it will improve your sound loads. But this film was promising, you guys have got talent and you're both surprisingly good at acting! There's potential here and I'm looking forward to seeing more from you guys.
OK, I totally wasn't expecting this at all! :P Some great acting, but you could definitely work on sound and camera like Justin mentioned. Still, it was pretty funny and the shot of the salesman warming up his jaw made me laugh out loud. The shot in the store at the end was a nice touch too. Funny premise, even if execution was a bit dodgy, but some bits really made me laugh and the dude's hair is rad. xD
Pretty standard idea on this one, but you did something interesting with "Joe's idea bank". It was very slow-paced and there were a few issues with sound and background noise, and the ending was a bit flat. The picture was good however, what camera are you using? I'm guessing you made this on your own, which is cool - I know how hard that can be! And you definitely get credit for actually making a film and turning your idea block into something creative. Sure beats doing nothing, right? Oh, and I would LOVE to see The Secret Life of Eyebrows slasher flick, that sounds damn awesome! :D
Yes, totally did this with just myself!
I think someday I might actually make "The Secret Life of Eyebrows," just as a fun look back, and to see what I can come up with. Only time will tell, really!
