The Expendables
Genre: AnyRules: You know that AMAZING ACTION movie coming out? Called "The Expendables"? We want your take on the TITLE of the movie; what else or who else is expendable? No action allowed.
Hey we made this one! Remember that Justin? Good times. One thing that makes me sad is you can't read the poster in the background, which may have been my favorite part of the film haha. It reads "So you were bitten by a werewolf...WHAT NEXT?"
You can see it in one shot on the vimeo HD version ... but yeah i love throwing cute stuff like that in there
I would have liked to see that poster in it, as well (or maybe its in it, but you cant read it). I think that would have added something good to it.
You can read it in HD in vimeo
I enjoyed this a lot in concept, but I wish the jokes hit a little better. I didn't mind the vampire not being lit very well, I had thought it was intentional, as he makes a laugh about his boss asking him to work during the day.
Hmm, again (like with Procoverage), I found the concept to be good, but you just didn't sell me on it. It was kinda slow paced, with all the time you held certain shots you probably could have fit in another segment, or told us a bit more about the product (made a joke about it being for monsters, whava) I would have preferred the VO to be more sympathetic.
Also this wasn't really filmed in any sort of 'commercial' way, as it was a spoof of antidepressant commercials I think you could have followed their ques more, but still had the vampire, that would have helped it hit a lot harder.
Man, this and the other Mummy idea that got LW to me were so hilarious, straight and to the point concepts. To me that's sort of the idea of the mini-fight, it doesn't necessarily need to go anywhere or have much happen, it's more about presenting an idea. So this was on the money for me. (on the mummy).
I like what you did there, not really a fan of 'fades', so that would be my only critique.
You guys rock! Thanks for the sweet reviews :D
Justin: I totally agree with you about expanding on the idea, I wish we spent a bit more time on it, but we burnt all of our fuel on "Money Can't Buy You__" fight :D Lol "mummy sex" I think his penis would fall off... hmmmm ;) I'm cool with a LW for this, but I'm so surprised of the consistency in the amount of entries! IF this keeps up, maybe we should reconsidered a MW group. So LW would be like the "Little Tikes" group haha idk. I guess It's good with just a two for now.
Sometimes Mike: Thanks! I'm so happy you got a laugh out of it. :D I was surprised by how many mummy fights were made but they were all really original :) I guess being a mummy really sucks. I would have done one about a vampire, haha actually I'm writing a sitcom for class about how being a vampire in a "twilight" obsessed society really sucks. It's called "Life Sucks" too.
Oh and the cross fade was kind of to show how time passed, but yeah they are awful ;)
HAPPY HALLOWEEEEN!!!! Mwahahaahaaaah!
Vampires are so hot right now, I'm glad it's not ALL vampire films, haha. Also vampires and mummies are way easier to make than werewolves or frankensteins.
Oh Justin it's weird my reply didn't have paragraph spacing. Are you going to add an "edit reply" feature?
Hmm, no plans for editing at the moment.
It should have paragraph spacing, we can def fix that if it doesn't!
Ha, I enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with black face. Nothing. I wish the quality was better, and you didn't have a fade in the film. The concept is good, but the timing wasn't nearly as good as it could have been. Work on timing for your next film!

"Woo Hoo! Thank you to all of you who voted for our film. We are really excited as well as surprised by the win. With all the obstacles we faced in this fight we feared it wouldn't be as greatly acceptedd as it turned out to be.
We are very happy that we were able to fight our way up, with your help, from Middleweights to this. We are looking forward to the coming fights and hope we can continue producing quality films for your entertainment. Thanks for the compitition and we hope you all keep bringing it.
Special Thank You's: Audra - for helping on such short notice. Everyone who said we needed to be bumped up a weight class. Jake- For overseeing the whole operation in Justin's absence.
"That's a Wrap".
