Valentine's Day Haiku
Genre: Video HaikuRules: Create a Valentine's Day themed VIDEO HAIKU! A video haiku is a 3 shot film. 1st shot is 5 sec, next shot is 7 sec, final shot is 5 seconds. SEE EXAMPLES HERE: http://bit.ly/s34Fmc
I like the shot at 0:16! Good shakey cam effect. Works well. The visual of him with the tape on his mouth is good. Always a good idea to have a solid visual like that. Oh man, glad this guy didn't fall while you were shooting, hah. Don't want to get sued!
I like that you redubbed the audio on the fence. Your speaking audio also sounds quite good! Music at 2:02 is too loud in the mix. Framing at 3:12 is a little odd. Seems like if it was actually wide screen it'd work better. Both people are being cut off at the edges.
This is good! I like seeing you work within a shorter format. I'm sure there's some deeper meaning here that I'm just too jetlagged to see. Good shots in this, audio wasn't too echoy or weird. Black and white had an appeal to it. Music fit well. The mouth-tape thing was played off well. Yeah, I dig it! You'll have to tell me the deeper meaning here. Guessing it has somethign to do with breaking from patterns, or the dangers of being silent when people are being manipulated?
I give this film a B+ rating.
What I liked:
Cute dog!!! Aw, it's not easy working with animals. That dog seems like a good actor. Heh. Voice over works out awesomely, you're a great voice actor. Great dog POV shot. Great location. Poor cone on the dog's head! So sad! This dog is such a great actor.
What could be worked on:
The shot of the tennis ball is skewed incorrectly. Ball should be a sphere! Still gotta work on exporting so there's not a black bar around the screen. Christmas shots seem like they're a little high to be from the dog's POV.
Overall, thought this was excellent. Who doesn't love a movie with an adorable dog! Reminds me of classic Film Fights fare.
I give this film an A- rating.
Thank you for your very kind words. Working with animals presents many additional difficulties which I know you appreciate. My good fortune was in the graciousness of an incredible author to grant me license to make this film with her work, and a dog that is just a jewel to work with. In "Bad Trip" he willingly played a horse for the GI Joe guys to ride to the rescue.
I tried a bit of PARTICLE ILLUSION, toned down on the opacity to create the "lights of the bar reflecting off the ball's fuzzy skin.
Thanks again for your very kind thoughts and help.
I WOULD JUST LIKE TO MENTION TO ALL MY FELLOW FILMFIGHTERS TWO WORDS: YETI MICROPHONE. I got one for Father's day. It's a retro desk model but it is incredibly powerful and I used it for the first time in this film. The difference is astounding. Mine is USB but they also make a audio plug model. You can't use it and hear it on your speakers in real time. It has it's own headphone jack! What's more, it just looks cool. Looks aside, it is one incredible microphone and I heartily recommend it to everyone!
Oh boy, that's some exciting intro music!! What is that crazy texting program you're using? Looks fun, with everything all popping up like that. Music is pretty fun and intense. Glad you got an adult to play the dad! Not sure what he says though. The audio is too high for the dialogue. Hard to tell what's going on. Camera shaking it a bit too much - try a tripod or holding it steadier.
I like the shot at 1:08 a lot! I can imagine that with a jib looking quite nice!
Walking shot following that is good. I see some good shots here, but really it's just taking up too much time, we don't need all these shots to setup the story. Oh man! The car hit is so crazy. You think the dad would be freaking out more!!! That's sad!!!! Jeez, this took a turn for the dark side. I like the music at the end as well. Acting from the kid is good. I'm putting this as a MW, but see a lot of potential here!
I give this film a B rating.
Thanks, at that time I only had one royalty free music CD so I wanted to use it as much as possible as it was new. I've bought a few more now so no more crazy music. Thanks for the advise on the camera shaking, the volume (stupid mistake), and the compliment on the use of shots.
It's hard to get your dad to act well when he's rushing to watch the football so he didn't deliver much enthusiasm when we were doing the 'car hit' shots!
Thankyou for complimenting on my acting :)
Hmm, well, this is kind of a mix of both the things I strongly suggested not to do. A 'silent movie' type film and a music video. I like the environmental message and the fact that you got a whole bunch of people involved, but not into it as a submission for the fight. I wonder if you made it for something else and it just happened to sort of work out for this fight? There's also not a 'main character' - just a car and a bunch of people.
I DO love the shot with all the people dangling their car keys - really well setup, a powerful visual for the piece.
Not much to say about the cinematography - very basic. Nothing too much stands out here besides what I said above.
I give this film a C- rating.
Hah, the opening yawn reminds me of our sometimes funny POV entry. Sounds like the sound effects are way too loud and only coming out of one channel. Dog sounds like he's got some kind of crazy hooves on or something, ha. Little over the top. I imagine dogs feet are pretty quiet. The walking it getting a bit over the top.
Whoa, you have chickens and stuff??? That's awesome. I wish I had chickens. This is going on way too long. Doesn't have to be a full 3:30 ... could fit this story until 1:30. Dragged out too long for me.
I give this film a C- rating.
you'd be amazed how loud my dog is when he walks.
Hah, I guess so! Take off the horse shoes!
Audio is a little bit shaky on this - the zooming out as they walk is awkward. I like the dialogue, seems natural. You gotta watch out your audio levels jumping all over the place when you're shooting from far away. All the zooming is distracting. I like the big dude's hair.
Ha, the revenge title is kind of funny, but I don't really like that font - it's too thin for a REVENGE title. Should be a big bold intense revengy font.
The sideways shot with the gunshot is pretty brutal and effective. I like the splattery falling effect and the little bullet holes when he's shot on the ground. Disturbing and gross.
Why not stay consistent and use the same font for "the end" as you used for "REVENGE!" ?
Pretty effed up! I didn't think the concept was that strong, the zooming was odd. Zooming like that works if you're using a camera that has a fast manual zooming option, not one that's a low automatic zoom like I assume you're using. Not a bad entry, but not a HW this week - hope some of this advice helps, thanks dudes!
Droids! Did you know that 'droid' is a copyright term? Pretty crazy, right? I guess you're playing a video on your phone? or did you motion track the phone? Creepy voice. Some sort of crazy droid windows computer program? Oh man, the gun shot effect is way too cheesy. Not sure at all what happened in this. I like the atmosphere you presented, but overall I couldn't understand what was happening. Not much of a plot, or characters. Still some good stuff in here though and looking forward to seeing you kick butt next time!
Ha! Hey it's my name in the poster frame. Niiiice. Love the VO. Eww, gross splattering effect. I like that Dave is a monkey. That's how I (lovingly) think of him too. This seemed like more of a motion graphics / audio test than a full actual film, or even a trailer for a film. If it wasn't for the great voice over and the inclusion of ME and solid audio work, this would be a LW. But I think you're spirit and am also a narcissist!
Your 4:3 square video is being squished into a wide screen space. Try to avoid that! Better that there are lines around the sides. Ooh, gosh that bleep sound is way too loud. I agree though, he's got to shave that off his face. Your audio sounds SUPER over compressed. Reminds me of editing digital video like 10 years ago!
I like the kid acting on the right. I see some promise there! He's keeping a straight face which is important in such scenes. I'm no good at that.
Is this supposed to take place at a bar or something? These guys should be at least drinking during the night, not the day! You could have taken the same setting and just lit it differently and it could have passed for more of a bar type place. Even if there was like bar ambience in the background and just like some very subtle light on their faces. Wow, I can totally see your finger in the shot! You should have done multiple angles or something. This was lacking a lot! Take a little more time on your shoot, think about your set and your lighting, try different angles. Watch your finger!
Okay, so this song sounds like it's copyright. You should avoid copyright music! I like this opening shot with the dudes talking, but the 2nd shot cuts in awkwardly. Shouldn't their conversation continue? Cuts need a lot of work on this. Looks like you're using a decent DSLR.
Careful to not film at sunset, you'll lose all your light! Those last couple shots are super dark.
Hrmph yeah, this isn't so much a film as the start of a film. Who is this guy? Why is he mute? Why are his friends to mean to him??
Video quality is good on this, audio quality is pretty good - total lack of story and editing needs a lot of work so things flow smoothly from one thing to another. Sorry guys, but you're doing so many things right here!! Just work on your story telling and I sense HW in your futures :)
AUGH, your mic audio is only coming from the left channel. This is like a MEGA pet peeve of mine. Edit with headphones! Pay attention to your audio. Or at least make it mono if it's a mono mic. The flash back has audio that is centered.
Hah, the shot with the giant wind instrument is funny. This montage of silly things could be shorter. Only show the funniest parts. Really have to establish a 'flow' with these kind of montages to make them work. This one was a little awkward.
Haha. I like the "leotard" line - that's funny.
Okay now the audio in the car is centered. I like the outfit of the mute guy. Good look. Pretty cool. Do you guys live in Florida? Looks like one of those torrential Florida afternoon rains that happen all the time (I lived in Orlando).
Editing needed to be tightened up on this, didn't see much of a story. Liked a couple of the lines in this though. I like the concept too, that he can't talk cuz of a jinx.
We really loved it, though u do have some things to work on, it was a great film with some great ideas. "That is Fresh!"
Hey it's your first ever thriller! Nothing quite like English people and action films. Something magical. Love the shot at 00:36! Ha -- always the tech nerd on hard. I think that shot looks very unconvincing. Would rather you did some smart lighting and put the guy in a very intense looking little room of some sort, with a couple monitors in the back out of focus, or even just one monitor so we at least felt like it was a control room instead of just a bed room.
The surveillance camera footage should look more ... surveiliance-y. Add some 'scan lines' or something. Or the electronic sounds of zooming in and out.
What kind of camera do you use again? There's a very distracting echo that happens in your films. I suspect it's because you're shooting on an HV-series camera in 24p mode instead of 30p mode which can cause some problems like that. I shoot all my stuff on that in 30p to keep the ugly echos from happening.
Too bad the guy with the case wasn't actually speaking sign language, obviously he's just like, gesturing a whole bunch. Cool shot w the dude running after him though.
Framing is pretty bad at the shot at 2:31 - ("Why the hell would you even take it ??")
Pretty BALLSY jumping off that thing! Wish I could see how it ended. Kinda leaves us hanging there, though with a short time limit that often happens. I always like mysterious packages that you never find out about.
Your video is a little squished. Haha, love the audio work on this. I smell a movie nighter! Ghosts! Haha. Dude, I hate ghosts. So much terrible stuff happening. Love the sound effects. "If you don't have a gun you are FUCKED!" -- haha. Love the actor and the shaky camera on this. I'd totally watch doggie court. Sounds like a great show.
That dude must do some intense cooking with that knife. "Yea we merged, haha"
Love the Spencer cameo. Hahaha, the inside the gas mask shot is great!! Robotic Willy, I salute you! Shooting and the concept on this are great.
I like the opening shots on this! Good to grab attention. For a second I thought the dude was actually playing guitar, ha. Not just mopping. Good location too! Looks like focus is a little off on the "do you know where the bathrooms are" shot.
I'm sure that one of your crew made the music for this. I think it's okay but a bit distracting. Focus seems to be off on a good handful of the shots. Going from the home made music to an obviously produced track is also distracting. I'd suggest skipping the music at the start and just having the 'you are my voice' song show up at the end.
Wow, the outdoor stuff looks great!! Amazing how sunlight makes everything awesome. Especially with DSLRs.
Hey, look, it's love!
Watch your 180 degree rule - at the last two shots they are both looking the same direction.
Dude, this was pretty great - ESPECIALLY love you picked some GREAT locations. That makes such a huge diff! Characters are all of believable age (thought maybe there's some child labor laws being violated, ha). You've come so far since hte llama video !!!!!! GAH I AM SO PROUD!!!
Hey, it's copyright music :( --- hah, I like the flying footballs. Why are you using the vingnette effect? It's a bit intense. I know it's like saying "oh this is POV" - but I don't think it's needed. We can see his hands already.
Hah, dude breaking into the car is a nice little sequence. I like the car squealing sound effects. Nice touch of danger. Also good that you're redubbing all these lines instead of just using normal audio.
I wish when people were exploding into blood around him, we'd switch to his POV view and see some blood splatter on the phone or whatever. Maybe he stops, looks annoyed and brushes it off.
The sound effects are a bit loud on this. Some of the explosions made my speakers angry.
Wasn't so sure on this one initially, but I loved how crazy it got! Good work!
The song is not copyrighted. It is a remix.
Cool!
Thanks for reviewing our short! I actually wanted a POV shot of blood splattering. Only problem was that the idea popped up after I finished the effects.
Sorry about your speakers haha. I'll keep that in mind next time.

Man those are some serious tights there. Lots of red going on. Reminds me of a tim and eric type of thing. Swords are cool. I'm down with swords.
There's a high pitched whine happening in a lot of these shots, you can use an audio pass filter to fix that. Why not add awesome sound effects when they battle with the swords? I want to hear CLASHING!
The music at the end is cool. Sounds like Ben Folds singing. Maybe not ?? Please avoid using copyright music! Yeah, so that was ... kind of weird, wasn't into it at all.
Thanks Justin! We're just happy to be here, haha. We will fix a lot of that stuff for our next Film Fights don't worry, but thank you for your input because that will come in handy in the future. - Mainz
Awesome! That's what I'm hoping!
HEY IS THAT THE HAMMER KID??? OMG HE IS MY FAVORITE!!! I love all his dances. I AM A FAN! If it's not ... well, sorry kid. Yeah I can hear you laughing in the background, I'd be laughing too. Hammer Kid is awesome. Yeah really no idea what is going on here. Haha. Yeah, sorry I can't even watch this all the way through. Ummmm, work on not laughing during your films, taking it a bit more seriously and editing it down to just the interesting parts??
Hey it's Bubbaju! I like the shot of the dude peering into the house - the music is good too. I'd love to hear the crunching of his footsteps too to make it extra suspenseful. Good shot of his hand up against the door --- CREEPY.
Everyone loves them some video games, that's for sure. Not sure I like the vingetting around the lens, it's a bit distracting. That's always better if it's a MILD effect. Suppose you're trying to really show this as a different sort of thing so --- in that case, I might be okay with it :)
I like that the magical feather appears in there again.
Creepy voice over! I would suggest also putting some vocal effects on it. This mirror scene is a cool idea. AWWW, THE DOG HAS PAJAMAS!!!! That's funny but kind of takes me out of the moment of the film.
Careful with those whip its kid! Ha, wow, this kid is really messed up. I like that you brought it back to the bedroom.
So, some kind of magical pillow .... he's tripping out ... trying to figure out exactly what's happening here. I like the idea. I think you could have done a lot more with creative and colored lighting. Buy some colroed light bulbs and add some freaky reds and blues in there, really will make your shots look AWESOME! Thanks guys!
it's supposed to be a dream! lol! he snuffed him with a pillow! he's asleep! lol
Beautiful opening shots. Loving it! Dude has a really goofy run. Hah -- love the opening title and the zoom in. Ha, the shot of the library looks fake.
I like the shots of him running sideways, wish you would have kept that as a theme. Him running towards the camera is less fun. Always good to develop visual consistency.
Man, everyone is calling 911 this fight!!! Ha, oh man I bet he has something in his mouth he needs to spit out.
Too bad the kid is smiling when he says "Daddd?" - kid should be more concerned. LOVE the shot of him leaning down into the fishbowl. Shot at 2:35 of the kid's head going into frame, also quite masterful.
2:54 - oh no poor fish!!!! That kid is cute :) The dad is a good actor. Casting! Gotta love it! Ending shot is QUITE nice though a little bit of jitter on the pull out. SOLD hw as usual --- you're one of my favs!!!
Hey Justin! Thanks for the great review! Yea I thought during editing that it would have been cooler to have the profile running shot between every "confrontation." Kyan (the kid) is an awesome kid. All the kids in this are my boys, and he's always had fun with the acting thing. You should see his film Hide N' Shriek on our youtube page. And don't worry the fish that got flushed was bought at the grocery store, already packaged and ready to eat... Thanks again!
I feel like the shot of the man and the TV could be framed more evenly. He seems pushed too far ahead. Ah I see, there are more people walking up behind him. The TV fuzz is an interesting way to break it up - I want to hear even more audio stuff, like -- the glug of the clown guy drinking the water --- everything should be heightened and super crazy! I'd love to see some color in here too, I feel like his normal state would be black and white but the CRAZY state could be in color.
Audio isn't good, hard to hear the lines. Would be much more powerful if his voice sounded god-like - crisp. This is coming from his mind, we shouldn't worry about microphones and room echo.
Shot at 2:06 is pretty neat, I like the sped up effect.
Not sure that's how the splatter pattern would look on the wall - hard to get that right - need like a blood canon or something.
Wish we heard the faint buzz of the TV constantly, and then just abrupt smacks of it at random times. It's a good ambient sound.
Oh NOOO not BLOOPERS!! Augh. That totally ruins any kind of 'mood' you were setting. Always a bad idea. Just make a separate video for bloopers and outtakes - you're not making a feature here - and even then, it's like a SCARY movie, not a hilarious family comedy with a well-known actor.
Yeah, lots of stuff that seemed pretty good in here but you need to work on your audio - and please, please for the love of god, no outtakes :) - thanks for the submission guys! Hope this helps!
Great film.
Great film.
Thanks for all of the feedback. This was our first film ever, and was shot with a 10 year old sony handycam. Luckily I have some alienbees stand strobes I used as hot lights. Soon hopefully we'll be getting a couple of GL-2s and some audio gear. I do want to personally apologize for the bloopers. As hindsight is 20/20, it seemed like a good idea at the time (sort of broke the monotony of the whole filming process) either way, thank you all for the great feedback, and I cant wait for the next fight.
I like this idea --- pretty cute. Problem is that you've got to use a lot of copyright music to actually make it work. Unless you're making these songs yourself which is cool. Audio is pretty bad on this. Watch the continuity of your cuts. Like at 00:57. Hand on cheek, hand not on cheek. Minor but there are many instances of this throughout.
Acting is very wooden.
Hey, it's one of those crazy zoom out focuses! Almost got it, doesn't look great though. Not sure the wipes are needed. I like the drive up scene. Did it work?? Did you actually do it?
He's not really selling this 'macho' thing - I wish the relationship angle was the angle the whole time! I think it's the most compelling - him just with his bros, less compelling. People love LOVE stories! At 02:50 I can see the camera man's shadow -- why not just step up closer and avoid that? Or zoom in the frame so you can't see. Lots of fixes for that.
Ha, the end is kinda funny.
Wasn't feeling the acting in this, I liked the idea but it relied on copyright music, and I feel I've seen similar stuff before. Shooting needs a lot of work, audio needs a lot of work - sorry, lightweight this week guys! Take these and the rest of the tips the film fighters give ya and come back with something awesome!
Thank you for taking the time to write a review! Yes, if I said that this piece could have been better, that would have been an understatement. I will also stop using copyrighted material in the future. Thanks for the constructive criticism, and I will definitely enter other Film Fights competitions in the future.
Awesome! Good spirit!
Nothing like NINJAS and YOGA, yanno? Ninjas are totally chill. Watch out for the wind noise --- the guy's audio seems good but the wind ... the wind! You could just redub the lines or something.
The shooting style on this is really bland - get more close ups, choose some more variety in your shots, look at things in an interesting way.
Ninjas have the coolest ring tones. That's a sweet pink cowboy hat. Not sure how I feel about the Mexican stereotypes! Hah - the ninja has an awesome run. More of a shuffle it seems like.
Acting is really bad on this, sorry! It's true! And hard to even tell what's going on, or why we should care. The shot of her handing money over was nice -- and I love the musical sting after that happens.
GO NINJA GO NINJA GO!!! The shot of him jumping down, also cool.
Yeah so lots of tech issues with the audio and the boring shooting on this. Didn't find it very compelling, even though a NINJA movie should really kick my butt! Sorry guys, a light weight this week - but hopefully this review helps a bit!
Thanks for the review this actually helps a lot. We will take your advice and put it into our future productions.
Great! Thank you Yoga'ers!
Fun opening music, Asher! You should never ever shoot with the camera facing in that direction - should always be sideways, in wide screen! It's really distracting me, unless you cut out of it or something. Big thing to watch out for! I like the tracking shot at 1:08 --- indy mogul snorricam perhaps ??
Ha - the kid in the dark shirt is a pretty decent actor. Oh man and your video is even different sizes when you switch back and forth -- shoot sideways next time :)
Yay, finally sideways :) Well, I like that you found this hospital location, we don't need to see it for that long before we hear any kind of sound effects.
This guy doesn't look like a doctor at all, haha --- maybe try to find just like a white shirt?
So, next time film sideways - I have an iphone 4 as well - you need to make sure to hold it really steady so it's not all shaky. It'll help your footage look much better. Thanks for submitting! Take these tips to heart and try again!
ya i was on vacation so i only had my iphone so i filmed the whole thing like it. and i did not notice that i could film it sideways until i went to the hospital, and the doctor was at the hospital for a little while and he was the only doctor there. he also had a id thing around his neck. thanks for the review and the tips ill incorperate all of them into my next one.
No problem - pretty cool to be able to make a movie on the go :)
Nice looking opening shots. Some of the close ups of the dude are pretty out of focus. Ha -- oh man! It's gun time already! Ha - I was so enraptured in that action sequence I didn't write anything! Either that or my flu is starting to eat away at my brain!!! Love the pharmacy location! LOCATIONS are what it's all about!!
Man these guys really love sandwiches. Good shot in the security cam - but might have been better if you actually faked it and held the camera up in the corner and added an effect. HOLY SHIT SWIMMING POOL! Haha. Wow that opening shot was AWESOME.
I was expecting this to take place totally inside their houses, but you threw me for a loop! Underwater cam is cool too. Gotta be brave to do that kind of thing.
Yeah, that was pretty much totally badass. You did the right thing by upping the action with each jump. I've seen a million of these and they always stay inside of someone's house and it's like "okay, yeah, whatever" - this was totally cool. CONGRATS!!!
Thanks Justin i'm glad you liked it and we managed to surprise you. We knew from the beginning that this was going to be a multi location shoot and were lucky we could get all the places we wanted. We had other locations we wanted like the streets of Paris (greenscreened, could have looked dodge but wanted to try) and then to the moon. Just because this video really is random and we wanted everytime to just make you go "No way! They've just been here and now there here!?" Maybe we'll get around to finishing the longer version some time :)
Thanks again for the review! Much appreciated!
ACTUAL locations are much cooler than fake ones so I'm glad you only used real ones.
I'm seeing that 'echo' type thing on your footage. That's some creepy music you've got going on! Nice shots of the creepy van. Ooh, I like the shot from under the van too - sets up some nice FEAR For us. Golden hour! Wonderful golden hour! Glad you did the head smack without seeing it. Better not to see anything. Shot of her splattered in blood is good. Too bad you couldn't have OPENED to movie with that shot and them flashed back.
Ooh, I like the creepy surgery twist to that, very smart! Owch --- gross making me sick here with the smashing. I don't think the long haired dude is a great actor, but he does an okay job.
Beautiful new jersey!
I like the end - I wish we could have seen a voice up of her bloody voice box area, and then maybe a shot of her hands all crumpled up, twitching lifelessly -- very scary cool stuff, love the take on the theme!!!!! WELCOME! Excited to see what other ways Jersey is unleashed.
Thanks for the review Justin, and thanks for the warm welcome!
No prob! Great stuff!
Hey! Animation! Well, I can't judge animation too well, not being an animator. Audio quality seems good. I like the colors and the backgrounds. That dude is really strong. I like the "up arrow" -- the "how we gonna get in" line seems much louder than the other ones.
Reminds me of some old school hanna barabara stuff, which is cool. Or like space ghost.
Oh snap the box wins again! Yeah this was pretty cool, it being animation not sure exactly what tips I can give to review.
Thanks ever so much for the kind comments. It's my first ever animation so I really appreciate it.
First ever? Wow, looks great!
Boy this is some seriously 80s sounding (probably copyright, tisk tisk) music. Your lighting is a bit harsh here - try to diffuse your lights when you can. Oh my, mysterious suprise! It's like that movie -- the spanish one, with the time travelling. Audio at the end is way too low, boost that! Can barely hear it!! BOOST! Fade cuts are kind of weird. End seems like it has a bit too much happening - better if it was abrupt - not even a shot of the guy laying dead at the end? Should set up again that this dude just killed the other dude.
Story seems kind of gimmicky on this, audio needed a lot of work. I think this is an OKAY film but not quite okay enough for MWs this week. Work on some of your technical stuff and coming up with a better story next time.
Dave's got to teach you how to export your videos in widescreen (and our system is a little picky sometimes). I think the same guy who shot this shot the shut-in video! Haha, wow that's a lot of salt. Issacson is really intense dude. Hah - I like the reaction of the girl to the duel slapping. Yay, you went outside! Ha, the fight is so slow --- the slow punches, very nice. Damn, the life of a hobo sounds pretty awesome. Hah "the lips on this one" -- poor girl.
Yeah, I liked this - as always Spencer is a wonderful actor!
Hey, it's XBOX Live! I love me some xbox live. Haha. I can't hear this other guy talking. I like your interpreation of the theme. YAH! POP TARTS!!! Oh no, look what you've done! I like the tape on the mouth stuff people are doing. Good visual, as I said before.
I like the lighting in the mirror scene. Good colors. Oh snap that 911 call ain't going to work! I wish the person on the other end of the phone sounded more like they were actually on a phone. Would help us feel distant from our character.
Why keep the awful wind noise? MUTE it or something :)
Don't really understand the rake guy sequence. Man it's like no one can talk in this world, wtf. I like how the (copyright sounding).
HAHAH LOL AT THE SCREEN NAME!! Doesn't really make sense in the movie but hell if I don't like self-referentialness.
Overall this was OK, could have been a bit shorter (you can always go shorter if you want, doesn't have to be 3:30 exact).
Very gothy looking clown people here! Not sure what I think about that. I like the close up of the boots. The subtitles are a bit awkward in this, since theyre a non-standard fonts.
Fight scene is slow and awkward - shoot around that - shoot close ups, speed up shots, slow other ones down, you can make it intense with some trickery!
WIND sound! Gotta fix up the wind sound. Why keep it? Really is distracting, especially when it's cutting back and forth. Wind is nasty, I know, but you just gotta edit around it.
Ew, gross face stitching effect at the end. I like that. Well done. Slow motion spit is very gross, is that supposed to be the other one dying I guess?
Thought this was OK but the fight scenes were just too slow paced for MW this fight - thanks for the submission, love the makeup, costumes, and accents!
Thanks for the feedback. We'll definitely be submitting to future film fights, and we'll take into account everything you've said.
Perfect :)
