The story was really good well done, but the visuals aren't quite up there. It was just the same shots of the dog, he's supposed to have chased a ball and u cut back to him lying and thinking again. I'd have liked more movement in the video. It came off like you write this great story, and it came off like random example here but you know when kids do songs and act it out too and they look around to see the others actions and are a bit behind with the lyrics. Well thats how this one felt you hear the narration then it of him vomitting and you see instead of the dog vommitting someone dropping food. It felt too fake I guess is what i'm trying to say, the vomit, the hand bite just took you out of this dogs world. But excellent story!! Well done :)
Very well done, effects were very good! I just wish the story had a bigger payoff at the end. The pov annoyed me a little with the vignette plus something on the screen of his phone could have given the story more depth. Like 'Be at yours soon to play x box, heaps nice day outside' or something like that.
Seemed like there were a couple people that found the vignetted pov annoying. I was trying to give a tunneled vision look. Guess it was a bit to much. Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep it in mind.
Also have you seen Repo Men, The music you used for the walking is in that movie.... I knew i'd heard it somewhere
It took me 3 watches to get why you showed a shot of a bus from behind in there. I was thrown off by the sudden color change and didn't realise he wanted to get on it. This has a really nice story to it and you came up with an excellent idea for him not to speak. Some of the running dragged a little. The boy walking home went a bit longer then I felt it needed too. Once in the house the pace just dropped majorly and needed to be a bit tighter. The house part should have been 10 seconds long because he gets in and just waits before he spits the fish in the bowl, we know whats going with him now and then it just stretches out like it was filling time. I think all of the stretchhing out parts, spitting the fish, flushing the dead one him being grossed out by the taste, should have all happened before the boy got to the table, just quick shots of all that happening, so its like "Dad?".. Inside, grab, spit, flush, grossed sit down. all a second or 2 each. Then sitting back at the table boy comes in "hi dad" Would have kept the urgency of this film up and watching it we'd feel more relieved like phew he beat the kid home JUST! He just had way to much time to spare inside. But very nice and touching story keep up the good work :)
Thanks for the review! We definitely plan on cutting it up a bit more before more fests come along!
I wish I could give a helpful review for this one. But i'm one of the slow ones, because I dunno what this was about at all. It was just to boring and that music that comes in is way to loud. Next time maybe a story?
When Jimmy Smits gave that look at the end I laughed. But up until then it was a challenge to get through, the camera was all over the place zooming in and out. The clone jury was strange, the courtroom was done pretty well though u could definately see it was in a house, like a house arrest trial? But yeah MW i'd have thought. Good acting by the other lawyer though
