"March of the Hamster" by One Trick Pony - Reviewed on September 25th, 2005

The only haiku that got me interested from the beginning. The second shot as an epic feel to it which leads to really wonder what's gonna happen in that 3rd shot. Feels like a complete story in 17 seconds. Simply awesome.

Wow, I love this one. Minimal but efficient approach. Congrats for what seems to be a film shot alone and driven by a good idea.

The sense of it all is indeed hidden.

Well done, well edited, haiku text. I like it. Romance?? :)

"genre: Art" I absolutely agree as the three shots are great in that respect. Great production overall but the first two shots are a bit too random for my taste in the sense that they feel made only for asthetics not as an effective figuration of what's narrated. I also don't like seeing two "characters" since it makes the 3rd shot less effective with the narrated text. I like the fact that the video contains only the haiku and a website at the end, no credits; minimal approach.

"Impermanence" by samsarai - Reviewed on September 25th, 2005

Different than the other entries. The reverted voice turns this simple haiku into something creepy. Bizarre coloration of the second shot also adds to this. My biggest complaint is the overdose of "in-a-can" special effects.

"Caught" by Five Clover Films - Reviewed on September 25th, 2005

Nice 3 shots, good haiku form, this production has a great professional feel to it. At a bitrate of 2000kbps it's clear that the video quality is unfairly superior to all the others who encoded their file at around 300kbps-400kbps. ;) The only haiku this week with a 1 second black screen between the 5-7-5 shots and it enhances the clip. Solid work.

"Sin" by Dan Rigdon - Reviewed on September 25th, 2005

Pretty good exercice of style. The red FF opening fits well with the rest. Would have been nicer with a haiku narration ala Sin City :D .

Amusing. Works very well as a joke haiku.
The footage lacks colors probably due to a low budget cam. Sorry.

"Satan Duck" by Dont Ask - Reviewed on September 25th, 2005

A funny (but overdone) concept plagued by horrible voice recording (not Alasdair's voice, the microphone!). Stop motion always a plus.

"As Always, Your Love Kevin Mosley" by Lifeinacave Films - Reviewed on September 25th, 2005

It's a lost scene from Napoleon Dynamite!! :) Entertaining but not entirely satisfying due to the uneven pacing of the dialogue in the 2nd and 3rd shots. Still a really fun video.

"Haiku 2" by Reentry - Reviewed on September 25th, 2005

Hahaha, typical Griffin wackyness. Props for singing... and for making a cute "come-back". Vibrant colors!! Unfortunately, this clip is among the most unpopular to an audience (the "crowd" who watched it with me) who never heard about Griffin...

Great and sudden change of mood during shot 2. Well shot, well lit. I also liked this one a lot.
