Nicely done, I liked the music and the pace of the film was good. I would've liked to have seen some tighter shots. I thought the garden scene could've used some more detail as to what you were doing.
I think the real celebration comes when you are out celebrating Samhain and the first kid to come to your house has a candy-gasm and takes the whole bucket.
This was fantastic. I really really enjoyed this one. It was very halloweeny and appropriately cheesy. The shots and sound were good. The only complaint I have is the watching a movie shot seemed too dark, but at this point, I'm almost positive it's just the monitor here at work.
I finished this one. I'm just not entirely sure why. The audio wasn't bad, the shots, while they didn't particularly seem well planned, came out well. The story, while ridiculous and quirky, was easy to follow and enjoyable. Honestly, I think I just had to know how this one wrapped up. Good Jorb.
Beautiful, like so many of your films. The inflections of the voiceover were really great. I didn't like the cut to the bed which immediately showed you turning off the lights. I guess the darks were just too dark, or maybe it's just this monitor here. I had nothing but black for about half the movie. I think I would've liked to have seen more shots. Perhaps there were more, just too dark for me to see. I dunno, it just seemed slowish. Also, you look creepy little boyish in a nightshot. The lesbian vampyre bit at the end had me in a confliction of emotion. Happy Halloween indeed.
Sidenote: Did you hear Anne Rice went all Christian, said she found God and is only going to write for him now? weird.
You guys. The story sounded like it had potential. Unfortunately I can't turn up the volume enough at work to actually hear about half of the dialogue. Enunciation. That is the word of the day. What I could hear and understand of the words, your actors didn't seem comfortable with the lines. It really felt like they were reading a script cold. In places the music drowns out the dialogue which was bad because the ENUNCIATION was already bad. The shots were ok, the cuts were not so ok. It felt a bit thrown together... but knowing Ninja! Films, it was.
A film by Justin Johnson? That was short, to the point and well made. The shots were believable if the "laughing guy" character was not. The end was cute, if not surprising. There was almost no real meat to the story but it was fun to watch. Thumbs up.
Didn't finish it. The pace was horrible. A lot of the shots were actually pretty clever, but they lost something due to over use. Take every shot I saw, which was up until some S&M doll showed up, and cut it in half. The music became tedious and so did the jumpy motion of the "characters". Good effort.
It was certainly different in a candy worshipping kinda way. Don't you tell me not to search for some deep meaning, I do what I want. Simple, smooth, well done.
The audio was bad, the lighting was worse and the first song picked was gimmicky. Remember, when you are shooting, you can't have too much light as long as your colors are good. You can always darken up the shots in post, but you can't really add light. The first part, I understand why you wanted it dark, but for it to look like someone is really running around in the dark, use a flashlight and kill that awful night shot. People don't see in nightshot.
The cop actor, should have been cast as the dead guy. The dead guy, needs to not flare his nostrils and swallow whilst pretending to be dead.
The fight scene, not great. Don't "Delete a scene for time restrictions" find a way to make it work. Ninja! Films does it in EVERY FILM it's a gimmick of theirs and quite expected.
The vampires weren't believable as vampires. What self respecting vampire with absolutely no concern for human life is going to watch a friend get killed and say "OK, no worries, after all I did kill your friend" Not gonna happen. Also, you should dub the audio for the vapires talking in, that way they can say their lines without the teeth in their mouths, vampires are used to talking with fangs, they'd be able to ENUNCIATE!
As for the audio, you just need a new mic.
