"Celebration" by Burning Bus - Reviewed on October 25th, 2005

This one has a real interesting feel to it. I like that the opening shots don't have any music - makes it feel more 'real' - like a documentary. I guess this movie was made in all seriousness? Like ... I imagine that this person is a wiccan celebrating some kind of solstice or something?

Almost reminds me of Rushmore a little bit. Perhaps it's the music that seems Wes Anderson-esque. Simple, quiet, peaceful. I like it. Could be a bit shorter ...

"The Vampire Movie" by Spare Parts - Reviewed on October 25th, 2005

I assume that those news clips were in the song already, and not something that you added in later. The shot of the vampire at the start is pretty neat. I would have liked to see the blood look more realistic, perhaps be dripping from his fangs.

The sound is absolutely awful, totally kills this movie. I don't understand how someone can watch their own movie and not realize that it's impossible to hear anything at certain points. You guys could use a little help on the acting ... perhaps try doing a movie without any talking - some people are a lot better at physical acting as opposed to actually talking. Fight sequence seems awkward, more cuts would have been a good idea.

"Happy Halloween" by Five Clover Films - Reviewed on October 25th, 2005

As always, very beautifully shot. I dig the hell out of your camera work / lighting and hope to see a lot more entries from you in the future. Not a lot to say about this one since it was so short. I like it!

"Halloweed" by VileKyle - Reviewed on October 25th, 2005

So, the story on this one ... Marissa and Kyle and I were going over to record some voice over stuff with one of the girls that was in my stick arena commercial. But she didn't pick up her phone :( so we were at her apartment complex and had no idea where she was.

Then Kyle was like "Joe lives here! Let's visit Joe!" so we went over to see Joe and he was doing his thing, and I was like "While we're just sitting around here why don't we film an entry for filmfights!" and then we shot this and stuff in maybe 20 minutes, and it was fun, I just wish that camera picked up better in low lighting.

And I'm in love with Kyle's microphone, even though it's a little too big for it's own good.

If I were to make changes. I'd add some kind of funky music at the end to underscore the sillyness.

"Ninja! Films Halloween" by Ninja! Films - Reviewed on October 25th, 2005

Ninja Films! I love these things. I think it's hilarious how silly and short all the other ones were ... and then this kind of PBS-ish wordsy affair. What a treat. Even the delivery is perfect for the ninjas. I think you kind of have to see the other ones to 'get' this one, but hell, nice work guys. Very enjoyable.

"Vampyre" by Dont Ask - Reviewed on October 25th, 2005

This one turned out really quiet for some reason on my computer. I agree with the other comments that this seemed more like an intro to something rather than an actual stand-alone film. A wee bit dark, even just adding in a smidge of light in there to fill things out would have been an improvement.

"The Flag" by Broccoli On A Stick Productions - Reviewed on October 25th, 2005

Sound and music are a little overblown on this one fellas. I like that you used masks so you're kind of an ambigious age. Making such a big deal out of something so silly is great. Damn the wind ... I love the shot from the table up to the guys ... maybe if you cut the shot before that it'd be more impactful.

I'd rather have the kid who comes to the door be the son of the people who owned the house and put up the mailbox thing ... instead of someone who is obviously to young to rent a house.

I'd be worried if I was carrying around a gun like that in plain view of everyone.

Cool music in the middle.

Great acting, probably my favorite movie from you guys yet. Very nice.

"The normal nights of Halloween" by Synaptic TV - Reviewed on October 25th, 2005

An entry from Olivier is always interesting. You've got such a particular style, it's something only you can pull off. It's refreshing to see your stuff.

Nice after fx work! I need to play around with more green screen stuff, so many posibilities!

Are those fireworks from that firework contest that I saw when I was over in Montreal? What an awesome city. I'd like to go back sometime.

Seemed like some of the sequences in the first half could have used some more narration in them, I like the way it works in the second half a little better.

Nice Ring spoof too! This movie has it all!
