"An Eye for an Eye" by NDG Films - Reviewed on December 12th, 2005

Hehe I liked the quick cookie action cuts. There is a lot of distracting white noise during the kitchen shots. Try lowering the gain (usually keyframable) while there is no dialogue and especially while there is music. I would even suggest foleying the sounds of the screams and temper tantrum he throws. The night shot in the house was way too dark. I good suggestion is (if you have no lighting equipment) try to turn on a couple of lights to light one side of the subject and lower the gamma/brightness/input tolerance/level/etc in post and possibly throw on a blue filter to adjust it to more contrast and lower light and give it the general moonlit nighttime feel. Turning off all the lights and shooting makes it look like night, but the lighting is way too washed out.

Ha! I liked the last smoke spray at the end of the smoky scene. Killer wind noise. That can be a hard thing to get rid of fo sho. This is a solid story line. Good set up and conflict! This was very entertaining indeed. You always seem to write very solid and entertaining pieces. I think your next step is improving certain techniques like framing your shots, editing, sound, and lighting. This is a good thing-- youre past what most FF'ers cant get past-- a good story. Your actors are certainly doing a much better job. I would say get some books and work on shot composition/angles, tighten up the editing a bit and then when you have the money to get an actual ext mic and some sort of lighting kit you'll be UNSTOPPABLE!!!
