"Cell Phone" by Five Clover Films - Reviewed on January 16th, 2006

First off, everything is a little too staged with the dogs.
I thought the television interaction was great.. How the origran had relevant cuts to what was going on.

THe ending was a little too predictable... and your audio levels were a bit crazy, i had to change my volume alot.

BUT WITH THAT SAID - your cutting/framing was good...

well shot.. well cut... well executed.

different way of looking at it. So are you saying that if he would have NOT been on the phone he would have noticed the milk was two weeks past due?? that's different.. The music worked well for a silent flick.

glad to see you back, Jared. Looks like you got your own place now maybe - that's cool. Hope all your issues are behind you!

You know i had an idea like this (shooting partial movies and sending them to each other. ) to make it look like you're together. Your cutting is getting better and shot composition as well.

I just don't get one thing.. how does rex know there are pedophiles in the house?? Maybe i didn't catch it.. maybe i am stupid.

"Andrew?" "Sexy Rexy??" Got a good laugh at that one.

OK - alasdair - your wardrobe needs some serious help.

"Please, Silence Your Phone!" by A-OK Films - Reviewed on January 16th, 2006

Dave - this was kind of off the wall. Do you guys just take a hat and pick out of it at random?? I really liked the variety and sequence of shots you used.. you guys always seem to look at things differently... everything was cut smoothly... Audio was great... it was a well executed chase scene. nothing really bothered me about this besides the fact of HOW DO YOU COME UP WITH THIS CONCEPT?!!?! If one of film-makers' goals is to tell a story that's never been told well then there you go...

Welcome back!! Hope you guys can turn out more entries this semester - but i do realize you're really busy.

Danielle - your movies have gotten so much better.. they have alot more substance. I laughed at alot of this with the music (perfect).. the "FUCKING HOT MAN" comment was great...the dubbing sucked... but you know it could have been better. The punchline was great - it was unpredictable (the audience witht he cell phone)..

Try using lighting or having your areas better lit... you couldn't see how FUCKING hot the man was (for his intro shot).... good acting on the death scene... zooms were cheesy.

This definately deserved HW...

It's cool that you have alot of friends that are willing to get into filmfights - keep them coming! It's good to have another female filmfighter ;)

Great acting by Sam and Dustin - his facial expressions and earnesty is priceless... Great shot from inside of the cage. I burst OUT LOUD with laughter at rule number three..

Great twist on a classic story...

"Effective Cell Phone Ad" by Superfluous Studios - Reviewed on January 16th, 2006

i loved the cheesy grin.. and my friends SO ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN THEY ARE ON THE CRAPPER TOO... Nice punch line. Perfect use of music. Try to make your tilts a little more smoother (in the beginging).

I enjoyed this one.

You definately need some music underneath the begining. Short, sweet. I got a good laugh out of it... BUT FOR FUTURE REFERENCES - PLEASE don't ruin the punch line in your description! You said exactly what was going to happen.

That was pretty good. I liked it ;) begining shot was pretty shaky but i liked it. Good setup. I thought overall this was very well executed and stayed within the time limit!

OK, choking sound effects/acting = A+... girl wandering out of shot while on the phone = D+

I liked the shot with the cell phone in the foreground.. which pretty much led to it ringing. Other than that SO UNDREALISITIC!!! But that is what you were going for. good cuts/pacing, also.

the begining sound effect needs to be turned down a bit... it's so much louder than the rest of your levels. Good job, overall.
