"It Came From My Heart" by Saturnine Films - Reviewed on March 9th, 2006

as i already told you, i really really liked this film. i tend to MAKE comedy films, but really enjoy a nicely done serious film. i am happy you got this down closer to the time limit. i think it will help it get more views. the first time i watched it, the ending REALLY took me by suprise. this potentially could have been a difficult plot to understand, but you pulled it off beautifully. nice work.

"It Came From The Closet!" by Fridge Raider Productions - Reviewed on March 9th, 2006

this looks like it started as a good idea, that was either rushed to finish or you lost interest at the end. either way, i really liked the begining. it was all pretty good, except the audio. i really thought it was going somewhere when the old man was introduced into the story, but then it just kind of ended real quick and nothing much happened. it wasnt too bad, but seeing the begining makes me think you could have ended it better. work on some audio blending, too. it makes the cuts less obvious and the film as a whole flow better. i look forward to seeing some improvement in your next entry. i think your group has potential.

"It Came from Across the Border" by Transcendental - Reviewed on March 9th, 2006

ok. this was pretty good for a first entry (sorry if its not your first, but i didnt recognize you). overall the story was good and it was paced pretty good. there were a couple things i think you could have done to take it to the next level. first off, sound. my suggestion is, when you are editing, watch the whole thing with your eyes closed and just listen. if you notice stuff that dont sound right, fix it. it might be that you need to explore your editing program more. if that is the case, (well, either way) i recommend joining the forums. there are a lot of people in there that know thier stuff and would be happy to help you. second, and i guess this kinda goes with sound, make sure your actors speak up. if this is the first film you shot, then everyone was probably a little camera shy. just shooting a few movies will help it. be a demanding director, tho. if you think someone sounded quiet or not that good, do another take. last, but definately not least, LIGHTING. it probably looked better when you shot that when you edited. its hard to get lighting right, but practice and make an effort. an extra lamp in a room will help quite a bit, but some shop lights or whatver you can get your hands on will make a vast improvement. then you can work on reducing shadows, reflecting lights, ect. please dont think im cutting your film down, im just trying to be helpful. i think you showed some serious potential and i love to see groups get better. rock on!

*EDIT* i did't realize you have been around for awhile, so i feel like an ass...sorry.

"Clapped" by The Ruse - Reviewed on March 9th, 2006

i already reviewed thisin the forums, but ill say it again. great editing and a fun idea. looks like you had access to some cool locations. nice job. my only reccomendation would be to cut it down a little. some of the interviews with the "clapper" guy ran a little long. no biggie. just looking at it from an internet point of view. overall, very nice short. it was definately funny. i think my favorite part was the office scene with the CEO and secretary. the acting was really good there. the studio when the guy first clapped and everyone got real excited was pretty awesome, too. oh, light ALL your scenes. :) im just being nit picky, cause i know you guys are good and hopefully appreciate some constructive critisism. i really did enjoy this flick.
