Being a fan of "24", I thought this was a very funny entry. I especially liked the line "This is so inconvenient"! Your actor who played Jack was especially good. And when the guy got shot by Jack, his flailing around and dying was classic, I laughed out loud.
It was very impressive that you guys put together the 4-images screens for your film as well, I couldn't figure out how to do that for our film. The random people playing basketball was classic! I also liked how the 24-count clock turned into "Zag Yo Films".
Beyond that, there are some lighting and audio issues that you need to work on for the next entry. The "bad guy" is in way too dark of an auditorium. And some music would help to block out the sound of your camera zooming. Also some sound mixing would help to knock out some of that "dead air" sound.
Overall a good entry this week!
OK well holy crap, a lot has been said about our entry this week! Obviously this was a tribute or homage to one of my favorite TV shows, "24".
Special nods to 24 fans: The character "Jill Mason" was named after the CTU boss George Mason from seasons #1 and #2. Lindsay Raines was supposed to be Audrey Raines from seasons #4 and #5. And of course, Chloe is Chloe.
The scenes that we filmed in the conference room (where I work) had some air sound due to a huge computer server swirling away in the back of the room that obviously I could not turn off. Some noise reduction and the music helped in this aspect, but I can still hear some of the air at the beginning.
The character of SHODAN, along with the voice, was from the classic IBM PC game "System Shock". Also cool was the fact that we got to use a fog machine!
I wanted to include the main elements of 24: the dramatic zooms, the music that cues up as something is about to happen, "Jack" going on a mission while being directed by the CTU office, and of course a cliffhanger. Some people have stated that they didn't like the story, but there's only so much you can do within a short timeframe.
Thanks for watching our film! MIKE M.
A very funny entry. The frisbee dodgeball was classic. Some very cool camera effects as well. Did you make this for the behind the filmfights week and didn't get to submit in time? I'm thinking you would have won had you entered. A cool video spotlight entry!!
An interesting entry, especially with the fish eye lens effect. Your video got kind of stretched out here but that's something that you can easily fix. There was some "air" sound that you might have been able to knock out a little more with some audio work. The dude with the mask is freaking me out!
I already posted my suggestions in the filmfights forum. Keep on filmfighting and submitting entries!
I voted for this one in the lightweights, although it was an animation it was an interesting short entry. Wish there had been a little more too it though. I can say that I would not have thought to do an animation for this week's film.
Another cool entry from F.A.S.T. and a very original concept with the fortune cookies tying into the "stopping" of time. The fade to indicate the passage of time worked well here. I thought the lighting was good in the kitchen as well. His dance at the end was classic.
Green screen is cool, I've never attempted it before. It definitely works well here and it isn't overdone like some entries that have been on from other groups in the past.
Peeing on the White House?? What would the W say??
Only thing I would say is I would have had some of the shots framed a little closer to the actors in the beginning scenes, it felt kind of far away at times.
Rockin' entry this week Jeremy, good job!!
