The Worst Way To Die
Genre: AnyRules: What would be the world's worst way to die? Would it involve turtle wax, a lampshade, and Andy Dick? You decide! Do your worst!!!
You have very high audio compression levels. I'm just saying. But the sound was pretty good, between catching vocals getting sound effects. Good younger actors, the mom seemed a little forced. I think I liked the highspeed effects, reminded me of the Sims. Cool splitscreening, a slight bit jumpy but definitely forgiveably so. Yeah definitely seeing that the Sims similarities are intentional now. Very conveniet set you have there, for the style of film you're doing. Definitely dig the added sound effects. Also like the realtime/hispeed contrast in the same shot. Very cool removal-of-stuff shots. Nice parallels at the end. Definitely creepy but cool oldschool-style scifi eye-in-the-sky ending. Nice music. I like this one. Good Job.
Audio's interesting. Sounds like it's too loud. Acting's a bit over the top for the subject. DON'T LOOK AT THE CAMERA! It seems like you have good ideas and a good grasp of what you want the film to look like, it's just an interesting mix of subject/acting/editing. Maybe it's a little too silly at some points? Hahaha nice exploding/melting head. Very nice. all in all weird.
Very UnRexy introduction - you jump right into it. You can hear everything no problem, but when the camera is far away from the action, the sound sounds far away from the action - like it's in another room. Nice lighting setup for the backlit shots. Edgar. Nice. Swoosh sounds are not gaudy, might've fit even better if there was a little more ambient mood music. You had so many interestingly angled and setup shots that kept everything so different and interesting. I could hear ya walking tho. Squish sound effect wasnt the BEST but it worked. I dig overall.
Were the black borders intentional? To me they don't add. Hahah Grace the Ladder, nice. Uhmmm dancing is fun! I can testify to that. Basically a choreographed extended joke. Alright. Not poorly done. Props.
Tripod. Get one, use one. If you're gonna do voiceovers, use a mic. The falling sequence was weirdish.... hands jumped out of the shot a lot. For a piece this short, I wouldn't overlay credits into the opening the way you did, they're too distracting. Sitting at a computer is... sitting at a computer. One shorter establishing shot would have done it. G.R.A.C.E. has lockers, does it? I'm just giving you a hard time, I know what it's like to film at a school. Random umbrella guy! Convenient! I liked seeing the inside shot after seeing the outside shot. Uh, random ending, I guess it worked? I had a hard time believing the office building and the school were one, especially if the main joke/purpose of the piece was to have him fall out the first floor. Meh. Decently done, not to my taste but I don't take off points for that.
Actors were interstingly, unconfortably-lookingly posed. Music fades very quickly. Too many still shots make for... well, long shots. And still long shots are kinda boring. Ooh, a real-looking fight scene. With sound effects! It's good! Eeew blood. Good, you used lighting outside. Make it more nighttime-outside next time.
Sometimes you come up with an idea and story for a film and you go over everything so many times to make it perfect that the plot is seamless to you. However when it's done and edited a lot of things that you :know: need to be inferred by the audience, and it happens more often than would be liked that that inference doesn't take place. Everything made sense, just motivations were lacking for me. The film was pretty well done from a technical aspect, now work on getting the viewer hooked into the story.
More dancing! I dig. Your video itself was encoded at a higher compression level than the other submissions. OHHH RACISM. I like the jumpy getting-on-the-roof scene. awww soda OH NOES IT FELL. I liked the falling scene's difference. Ah you say pop... Cracka. More ambient music would have made it smoother. interesting lighting setup. Not the best, but it worked. Hahaha the styles in this film were so random but they wound up fitting together. Nice ending shot
what the hell... but good what the hell. Get a mic! Very nice intro shots, moving in. Ew. Honey and Darling. Hahaha this is funny stuff. DAVE BRUBEK You win. This is all to be expected from you. And it's all very well done. Random and funny, but very tightly edited. Irving sorta reminds me of Michael Ian Black. Hahaha gigantic cock. Was that the bikini girl from the sunburn video?
Wow this is just so randomly funny! You guys have very good narration scenes. Hahah nice jab at Verizon. I sincerely liked this one a lot.
