DAVE!!! What up.

WHAT YOU DID RIGHT:
Hah! Oh man, what a great concept. I like when he says "Glerk." It's like WTF. I don't think I got it was an alien-type thing until we really see all the crazy subtitles. Music is great on this. Shooting is excellent. Acting is great. Your GF did a great job! Everyone is great. (besides the fake baby). Watching this a second time was fun.

WHAT YOU COULD WORK ON:
**That damn fake baby.** Wish you shot around it, or clothed it or something so it at least sort of looked like a real baby. Worked pretty well in the shots where it was covered up.

Also wish the alien head didn't try to talk. Looked more convincing when it wasn't moving. Also didn't like the "M Night" credit at the end. Kind of a lame joke. I thought this was pretty awesome and didn't need that. Also, some video glitching, but wasn't TOO distracting.

I give this film an A rating!!

HMMM well maybe the fake baby is an allegory for his lack of real human connection with this creatures. Did you ever think of that? He's not human so he sees a human baby as a lump of plastic. I shouldn't have to explain this shit to you people. Jesus.

Hello David Segar! You almost made it through an entire video without making fun of it! Almost. All in all this was frickin amazing mate, all of it. The story idea was top shelf stuff. Make some friends who have babies though. Something. I would have totally bought into it if it weren't for the doll. Anyway, here you are... kickin ass again... Great job!

Thanks man. What's your real name? I only know you as RANDOM AXE which is a weird thing to call someone who has become an internet friend and contemporary. I'm glad you enjoyed this thing. Sorry if the baby distracted you so much. I really believe that an audience (not a filmmaker) has no problem turning off the part of their brain that is bothered by stuff like that. They suspend their disbelief and enjoy the story. Maybe. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong. I preferred showing the shape of a baby right up top then trying to hide it and make it look real which I knew I never could do.

I thought this was great, the music rocked and i the father theme was very strong. My only falt was when the right side of the aliens head sort of sunk in and it lost the magic and it looked like a mask. Oh and also i liked the music on the space ship to start with (GREAT SPACESHIP!) but when the Oboes came in it didnt feel as strange and slightly threatning as it did at the start. Oh and another thing is i thought you should have ended the film after the spaceship, and also i thought that the font could of been a little less like Times new roman.

Very sorry if this is sounding like a bad reveiw just critiseing but im just knit picking really.
Awsome film i LOVED it

Yeah, I'm bummed about the dimpled Alien's head too. That was the last thing I shot. I tend to lose momentum when I try to shoot a whole movie in one evening. I shoulda worked at that harder. Silly. BUT YOU ALWAYS KNEW IT WAS A MASK, RIGHT?

I agree about the font too. Holy shit, this is solid feedback. My next movie I'm gonna send to you to see if anything bugs you and then submit it. Deal? I'm not joking, I'm serious. I shoulda pushed myself to fix those things.

It was not quite there for me. I couldn't understand it until it was over and yet I still don't. And I laughed when I saw the baby and alien which was just kinda odd.
But I liked it. It was different.

Great twist, thought that was a really neat concept. I completely agree that it should have ended just after the twist. Also agree with Justin that the M Night comment wasn't needed.

But great direction, good effects and impressive acting skills. You'll no doubt do very well indeed in this fight.

Yeah, I added the "Meanwhile" cuz when I did the test screening everyone thought it was over at that point. I guess that makes sense. I'm just so in love with my epilogue, though. I'm happy that I kept it. It helps put a bow on the packaging.

A mixture of fake and real tears. We added some tears but Jeff started welling up in his eyes a little too. He's a damn good actor.

I gotta say as the dad was doing his emotional speech and with his tears I wasn't taking it seriously, not that I thought the guy was a bad actor, I suppose I just thought subconciously that the overly emotional speech WAS, because this was made by DAVID SEGER. (Actually wait maybe it WAS meant to be funny) Anyway I was gonna say nice twist ending - so the M. Night Shyamalan gag fitted perfectly, made me smile at least :) And also nicely shot and well lit, music fits nicely too. But I gotta say I think people may be more inclined to vote for the ones which were meant to be genuinely dramatic cos that was after the main aim here. Don't worry, your still obviously very good at the funny stuff and I know you said you didn't really want to do a staight drama anyway, so stand alone it's better than supposedly being dramatic. So good stuff man, great job!

LOOKS beautiful. Great acting. I love when an entry forces me to watch it multiple times, which this did. Not sure what I thought about the baby doll stand in, but I understand it's hard to get your hands on an infant who can act. To be honest, I don't GET it... is this the guy's 2nd baby, the first being the alien and he had to come work on Earth, and now he's going back? Or is this guy just bangin' some alien outside his marriage. I NEED ANSWERS. But I do like this one a lot, despite my confusion.

In straight-forward terms, the main dude is a glurk who got surgeries to look human. He recorded a video for his glurk son shortly before he left the glurk planet to head to earth and study humans (which is why he looks like a human and is speaking english).

Years later his glurk son is watching this video with subtitles, and meanwhile the main dude (the glurk who looks human) has started a human family as a ways to study humans and has a baby daughter. "Shhh, she just fell asleep." As he's caring for his newborn human daughter, he is remembering the glurk son he left behind and the video message he left.

Listen, JUSTIN, I've heard this "borrow a baby" song and dance, but I live in Los Angeles where everyone I know has a Peter Pan complex and none of us have babies. I could've stolen a baby for this movie, but I don't know if that's worth it. I think if you watch the movie a few more times and vote for it and tell your friends to vote for it you'll eventually grow to appreciate the charm of the fake baby doll playing a baby.

This one is going to be a hard one to review because, while I found it to be completely cornball and slightly ridiculous in concept, I can't help but feel that inch of parody that you glued underneath the "drama". The way you poke at the conventional, over-sentemental dramatics in the beginning (that, well, was actually working on me.. lead actor performance in excellent) and then just crash the viewer in the head with a hammer with that "twist". It's quite maddening, but at the same time, with that little jab at the end with the title, hilarious to think about in retrospect. In the end, I struggle to see whether I liked it (because it was quite funny) or not (because this fight was supposed to be dramatic submissions, right?) For drama purposes, I don't think the film quite works after the twist so I'm going to give this a two star grade, but want to say that your acting, editing, and photography skills are impeccable and I can't wait to watch your past and future work. ** out of ****.

I love this, It's a really nice story, great take on the brief but, in my opinion, there was just one thing that let this film down for me and that was the fact that the child was an alien when they watched the video back, it just didn't seem to fit in with the story. But otherwise it was fantastic and has potential to win.

Unique idea! The alien scene could have been lit a little better to help the realism, that scene made me think this was a parody? Up until that scene it seemed sincere to the a dramatic theme. Once again tho, cool idea with the story.

Awesome. This is definitely in my top 3 fav heavies.
Don't mind me focusing on the downsides of this movie so much in this review. It was just that good.

::spoiler alert::
I originally had negative feelings on the usage of the "Glerk" alien race name being thrown around before the big reveal. It definitely foreshadowed the reveal, and that's a big necessity, so that changed my mind.

I LOVED how the big reveal came right when he broke down and started crying. Before that, I was expecting this to be a possible farewell message from a father to a son before going to war in Iraq or something, but the reveal was sweet.

If I were shooting this idea, I would have had the baby obstructed/bundled up the whole time. Playing with a doll when it's supposed to be real kinda took me out of the surrealism of the movie.

My biggest complaint with this movie is that you wrote at the very end that this was an M Night movie at the end. NO! This is YOUR movie. I know it's in his style, but don't give him credit when he had nothing to do with it. That's hurting yourself in my opinion.
