Sam is the best pretasian I think I\'ve seen. \"What the fuck?\" - initial final reaction. If you took that stock cityshot then hell yeah to you.
Rexy why have you not invested in a boom-ish mic? You deserve awesometastic audio to go with your teriffic cinematography. You\'ve improved a ton in a bunch of different aspects in my absence. Props to you my man. Props to you. Awesome job on this!
Another decent entry from Revolution, and definite good set design to simulate the old shop, good job to Rex and the Revolution crew!
Only things I would say were there were some lighting issues when the rules were being read (too bright), and also the "silence your cell phone part" felt a little forced into your story.
Hey what's up with lifting the Chinatown and Spike clip directly from Gremlins huh? Robert Zemeckis would not be happy with you Rex. haha
GREMLINS! I love Gremlins. Have you seen Gremlins 2? It is so surreal and insane and amazing. It\'s like a child and a genius got together and let their imaginations splatter film stock. There\'s a SPIDER GREMLIN! Experimental Chemicals make ANYTHING possible. Damn I\'m gonna go to Amazon.com and buy that movie after reviewing. (That was a blatant plug, I\'m sorry. I do, in fact, own Amazon.com)
YOU GUYS: You guys have your hat trick. I love your movies. Consistency. Same crazy dudes, same crazy things, and it gets better. Your shooting style has improved a bunch since we last competed against each other. YOUR OUTPUT BLOWS ME AWAY. How many movies do you make a month? Four? Five? Ten?
THIS FILM: Sam is a wildcard. I don\'t know how I feel about him in some roles. This one he was cast perfectly. He had fun as the asian store-owner. This was silly, and that\'s never bad. Dustin was excellent, although I feel like he should\'ve acknowledged his error when his cellphone rang. But what do I know. BIGGEST GRIPE: Cut down the first scene. The set was nicely put together, but what was the point of the scene? To establish this is a Gremlins parody, right? You can do that with four lines of dialogue. I felt it dragged on, and when he started listing stuff I was like \"Get to the point!\" and then it came at item #3.
Whatever, rock. Or Rok. Oooh hoo hoo.
Is that a mogwai I hear? It is! Good use of varied shots and pretty good shot composition. The lighting was actually pretty good! The sound pipcked up well also. His fearful expression was awesome. Good gremlins spoof. I liked it, but the \"silence your cellphone\" requirement seemed kind of forced into it.
Good job, well pieced together. You need to work on your ambient audio. Your audio transitions are choppy. Costumes good, locations great. Acting was like much better than i usually expect on filmfights. WInning qualities yes but lose points for lack of originality.
-JULES!
I liked it. I think my favorite part is like the vague chirping / singing of \" Mogwai \". Good choice in cell phone ringers. The more obnoxious seems to be way more appropriate in times like these haha. Nice work.
I liked this a lot because it stems from my childhood movie choice and of course the sexy acting and camera work! The ending made me laugh. The Chinese dude in the end almost sounds like a Rastafarian from hell d8-0! Anyway, your movie was great fun and good work!
i smell a HAT TRICK!!! this was my favorte entry, for sure!!! the basement had a very china town feel to it, and the actors were great. just effing great. i liked so much about this. the ONLY that i DIDNT like was the order the rules were given. shut off your cell phone whould have replaced dont feed them after midnight instead of dont get them wet. :)
Really good acting I thought! You guys are freakin\' good!
Hey! It\'s my movie. I don\'t know why i\'m reviewing my movie. But, I came up in the slideshow, so screw it. SAM AND DUSTIN ARE TOO GOOD! and I agree with everyone. This movie could\'ve been cut down. I\'m bad with that stuff.
Haha what a great spoof! I loved the idea! The ending was so freaky. Rex you always do an awesome job at this kind of stuff ;) The only part that struck me as a bit annoying was the music. But everything else was superb!
lol a gremins spoof, aiight i can dig it. this short peice was a bit more well made than your usual brand of silly comedy. this is also priobably the least amount of actors you\'ve dealt with rex- you tend to use at least 5. anyway you guys are always good for turning in an entertaining video, and this weeks was no exception. will probably get me vote. love yas, xoxox.
i like how the basement looks like it could really be in a backalley in chinatown. As always the acting and filming were awsome and this one might actually be my favorite revolution film thus far.
OK... this movie is the movie i tell my friends to check out when they come on the site. I always love you guys\' films... and i am glad you used more regulars this time around. Great acting by Sam and Dustin - his facial expressions and earnesty is priceless... Great shot from inside of the cage. I burst OUT LOUD with laughter at rule number three..
Great twist on a classic story...
