Hey it's your first ever thriller! Nothing quite like English people and action films. Something magical. Love the shot at 00:36! Ha -- always the tech nerd on hard. I think that shot looks very unconvincing. Would rather you did some smart lighting and put the guy in a very intense looking little room of some sort, with a couple monitors in the back out of focus, or even just one monitor so we at least felt like it was a control room instead of just a bed room.

The surveillance camera footage should look more ... surveiliance-y. Add some 'scan lines' or something. Or the electronic sounds of zooming in and out.

What kind of camera do you use again? There's a very distracting echo that happens in your films. I suspect it's because you're shooting on an HV-series camera in 24p mode instead of 30p mode which can cause some problems like that. I shoot all my stuff on that in 30p to keep the ugly echos from happening.

Too bad the guy with the case wasn't actually speaking sign language, obviously he's just like, gesturing a whole bunch. Cool shot w the dude running after him though.

Framing is pretty bad at the shot at 2:31 - ("Why the hell would you even take it ??")

Pretty BALLSY jumping off that thing! Wish I could see how it ended. Kinda leaves us hanging there, though with a short time limit that often happens. I always like mysterious packages that you never find out about.

I usually don't like entries that are action films with younger kids playing the roles of spys and agents, etc. but this kept my attention, and manages to be pretty suspenseful. Should have stayed tighter on the video survelience guy, so as to not reveal he's in a bedroom watching a TV that's not on. maybe have him wearing sunglass with a TV glare on them. Some cool shots, love the London scenerey in your stuff, wish you had a nicer camera. Some poor, off center shots towards the end, where your heads are barely in frame. but, yeah, decent amount of story, suspensful, entertaining.

Cheers Jake! We're really glad we achieved the suspence we were aiming for. The annoying thing is how we put the monitor Specs is looking at on it's maximum brightness - and it STILL didn't come up on the camera! The room actually was an office, but the fact you all thought it was a bedroom means we obviously did something wrong hah. The idea was to have the room as dark as possible while still having the actor's face lit as well as the monitor visiable - didn't quite work out to plan...

What I liked: Your pacing, editing, and choice of shots were super! The music was fantastic! The actors have a great presence on camera and while a bit young for the parts, played them convincingly. I like that we don't know what's in the suitcase or how the runner survived that drop. You leave something for the audience to ponder.

What I thought could improve: The tech guy in the bedroom. At first it confused me.

Thanks! I'm glad we've seemed to pull off the acting despite our ages - as for the drop there was no camera trickery on that last shot, I just landed on the sand and ran. We had some other shots where we see the character landing but I thought if I cut them in it loses the same impact as having the reveal of that one long final shot. I geuss the way we shot it made the drop look higher than it was - it was only about 11ft I think.

I absolutely love the shots you chose. Especially in the end when he jumped over the railing. It all came together really nicely.

Great work guys. Some really good shots in there. I liked it that you used some longer duration shots and got creative with your tracking. The surveillance guy in the room was a bit unconvincing. Content was good, but i have some technical suggestions. What camera do you guys use? The white balance seems to be a bit off as everything appears a little blue which i think is the wrong tint for this kind of film. If you can have a play around with the white balance. Also some shots seem a little over-exposed, this might be because of the white balance. WIthout knowing what camera its hard to give solutions but google some stuff up on it. I'm in love with Zebra patterns at the moment :) they'v been really saving me. And finally would be good to have the video expanded out to fit the whole screen. Check the screen size when you export or import at that matter. But great work. Really wish i knew what was in the case :)

Hmm, not really sure why the frame didn't fill out other than perhaps it was paired with the awful video quality of this one - it had to be the 25MB 'cause it would've been mean to send in the 125MB version :( Anyway, with the new camera's arrival (Random Axe's HV40) hopefully we'l finally clear our bad camera quality hurdle!

Great music. Some good shots. I find it weird that one of the agent-dudes says "Wearing a green shirt" but the footage is in black and white. I like the ending, it's ambiguous. I also like that the credits are silent.

You're right about the black and white - my brother picked up on it straight after he saw it, I was kinda hoping he'd be the only one... ;)

Great story telling, great shots. The actor in the control room needed to look a little more nerdy. Maybe some big glasses and such. Kinda like Boris from Goldeneye. Also you needed to make the control room like more like a control room. Other then that, it was great.

Hello!

I thought this short was good. It had its parts. I liked the music editing, it really set the mood. Some of the shots were extremely shaky though and I found it uncomfortable. Also, you didn't establish what was IN the suitcase or the reason why the two goons had it, which left me disappointed. Also, if you are going to have the character speaking with sign language, make sure he's saying something. Otherwise, I liked the look of it and the acting was pretty nice! Also, liked the costumes, can't go wrong with suits haha.

Thanks Ethan! The main thing was that we wanted to leave what was in the suitcase to the audience's imagination, as for the goons we referenced several times to how they were delivering it to someone but perhaps we could've built on that a bit more.
Thanks for your review!

Great stuff from you guys again! You guys love filming in central London, nice location shooting in Leicester Square!

Liked the end too, wish I could have seen more.

Thought it was great! I loved the action/thriller feel it had to it. Running through Great Britian. Gotta Love it. My only complaint about it was that, the one who I saw as the main character wasn't the mute. Other then that I thought it was awesome! Good Job and Good Luck! 4/5 stars!

Hey guys! Awesome job on this! I have to say the ages of the actors kinda threw me at first, but the editing, score and acting pulled me back in quickly. I absolutely love the end scene where he's threatening to throw it over, very very well done. And very nice misdirect when he actually tosses it and himself over.

Man I gotta tell ya - at the end of the shoot for this I was a bit disappointed. There were some more shots I wanted to get, we wanted to shoot in Liverpool Street Station instead of Leicester Square, and I was really worried the sonds of waves would cause havoc in editing. But luckily I think we managed to pull something out the bag that wasn't too shabby after all - and it's great you lads seem to like it too! Apologies for the bad vid quality on this one also!

All in all pretty good. This of course coming from a light weight. The only thing I can add is the music was overpowering at times (a few of the scenes the vocals were drowned out by the score) other than that pretty good.

I liked the ending. With the mute running off. I still don't understand the reason why the guy left the brief case on the other side of the crates. So that idea needed some work.
