Your opening music is so fun! Makes me want to SALSA! The audio between cuts is really really jumpy. Good to keep an even room tone on the background of all the shots so it doesn't get all "dead" in the middle, does that make sense?
One of those things where I think you guys are too young to be playing these characters convincingly. I know it's less fun, but stick with scenarios that kids could actually get into1 It makes more sense in a film, and kids can do a lot of awesome stuff that is full of adventures, guns, bla bla. Just as long as you treat it like you would as your actual selves.
I like the sunglasses and the extra care you took with the props - keep it up guys!
sorry for replying so late. i was not able to. i made it that the actors were young as a funny element to the film. i understand what you are saying and i think it would have been better if the actors were older. now i see were i could have made it a little different to fit the actors. thank you for the reveiw!
Very well may have some potential here. I like the idea behind it, I love that he though he could buy him back with something other than cash. (was that a check?) If you have adult characters, try and get adults to play them. I know most of em are busy being boring, but most will take the time to help some kids who are ambitious enough to make a film. Don't let them intimidate ya! You had some decent shots in here like when the guy walks in (not sure why he was barefoot). Keep it up mate, they only way to get better is to keep making movies!
Your script was good. I liked the part where they didn't know what to do because they always paid cash! Your biggest challange is to find age appropiate roles and adapt your scripts to them. Hang in there!
this was actually the first film i have mad with makeing a script before filming. i see now how i can make my films better. thanks for the review!
I love the fact you tried to do like a million roles, even if it did become somewhat disorientating! Thought it was a good effort, and liked the idea. However, I think if I was your age I would focus on pieces appropriate for your age. Hope that doesn't sound patronising, but I know I wouldn't try and pretend I'm a kid in one of mine! Good stuff tho, keep on improving!
the reason that many of the characters were the same actor was because i filmed it the day before i hade to go somewhere and i did not have time to find more actors. i made the actors kids to make a somewhat funny element in the film(if that makes sense). thanks for the review!
This is a nice first attempt, but I didn't really get the story. The guy who's accepting the money was not in enough light, and he kind of faded away into the background. The camera angles could have been a little better and the editing could be a little tighter. also, the kidnapped kid had tape on his mouth, then when the two are talking about what to do, he is screaming, so there was a little flaw in continuity there. This is a nice first attempt, but there is some things you will have to improve on. Keep making movies, practice is the only way to get better.
