What I liked:
Music is super fun! LOVE the montage shot of all the pennies! Sucks that machines don't take pennies, boo!
What could be worked on:
Audio in opening sequence could be a lot better. A little redubbing goes a long way! The super fun music has some major looping areas and sounds awfully awkward at points. Loses a bit of it's pacing and steam after the penny montage towards the middle. Would like the see a better payoff at the end.
Enjoyed this film, but didn't see it with the HWs this week.
Hah! Loved the penny montage. Very cool. It reminds me of my kids. I'll toss pennies, honestly, cause I hate collecting em, but my boys freak out every time they find one. This movie makes me feel like a kid (in a good way). Great music, fun shots. I was definitely expecting him to do something huge with all the pennies though, kinda left me hangin. Good job!
Nice crisp sound with the guitar. I kept expecting some lyrics like " Ballad of the Penny". Working in the guitar player was good as well, and, that's my two cents here.
Hey!
Well first off, I think this was edited together very well. The music went well with what was going on, but I don't think there was a need for the shot where the main character was playing the guitar.
I liked the goofiness of the plot, but I don't think it really went anywhere towards the end. Still a great little video.

Loved the montage, especially with each of the pennies being lovely and shiny! Thought the idea was great.
Just to answer some of the things brought up in the reviews, which by the way, thank you for taking the time to write them, I'm about to make my rounds reviewing the others.
1. The guitar/hat shot,RedHanded, was both a way to incorporate the guitar and show 'working for small change.' However, I can see where it may add a "music video" element better avoided.
2. The music itself, particularly the "awkward looping area" with the cliff face, is due to the fact that the film was finished and I realized I hadn't used my footage shot lierally on the side of a mountain...it was added in shortly before the due date and I admittedy tried to gloss over the musical inconsistency.
3. The ending-originally the end sequence had dialogue and was 15 seconds plus. Essentailly, the "doubter" pointing out that for weeks for work, the protagonist had gotten very little money, and the protagonist responding by getting a lotto scratch off....hence the last shot, a less than obvious close up of the ticket. Pressed for time I axed the dialogue and tried to use visual clues, but it could have been done better.
Hope I got to everybody so far and thanks so much for the views/comments/critiques!
This was a heck of an idea, but it really wasn't for me. I think if the kid had like won the lottery with the pennies at the end, it would have really driven the point home, cuz otherwise he's proving just that he can bust his butt to find pennies all day, to just make a dollar. I would have to say that some of the camera work and audio could be improved, but overall, the film flowed pretty well.
Actually the idea was to convey that he had won the lottery- last shot is him about to scratch off the ticket with his last penny. In the original, that shot lasted longer, but I became pressed for time in terms of the minute limit
Reminds me of that episode of a TV show I used to watch as a kid, I can't remember the name.
