So, I'm not sure this is a REBOOT - since a reboot would take the original concept of Nosferatu and re-make it in some intersting way. Bring it into the modern day or whatever. It wouldn't look all old still though.
HEY, awesome jeep! That's so cool! The locations on this are great. Costumes are good too. Love the creepy ears on ol' Nosferatu. Hah, the reverse jumping out of bed was nice. Those are some giganto fang marks! Creepy rat, thing!
Lots of work put into this, so it's hard for me to middle weight it. I don't think the execution was really correct as per the rules. I liked a lot about this, so I'll make an exception and put you HW.
Thanks a lot for putting us HW!
I know what you're saying - that it wouldn't look old - but what we were trying to do was make a silent movie with a more modern feel, hence the inclusion of jeeps and more modern clothes, and refrigerators and computers in the background. That's why, even though we scratched it, the movie had a smoother and clearer feel to it, and didn't jump around like the old silent movies.
Thanks again!
Hi! I watched it! I have to say great, great sets! The car scenes were awesome, and you got the time period down. The way you moved the camera inside the ship was effective, you did a great job on that! Loved the costumes, also.
I think, though that a lot of the indoor lighting needed improvement, but congrats on making a HW! Good luck. =)
Thanks for the review! We mostly only used natural lighting indoors, because we didn't want to make it look too unnatural, but I see what you're saying - it is a bit dark in some places.
Also, if you liked the film, there's a longer version on our youtube site - http://www.youtube.com/pondworld
Hey this is SA-WEET! I don't care if it doesn't fit the "rules" of rebooting a film, whatever happened to creative freedom? I don't think it would be half as cool if it wasn't old and silent! I'm just a tad confused and I'm not sure I really get whats going on, but thats ok, I've never seen the original and thats totally why. Costumes are super cool, I totally dig them. Um at one point he is in the bedroom when hes reading a book on vampires, is it supposed to be night? Because it looks like there is light coming in from the window, I just think it would be cooler if there was creepier lighting. When he does the backwards jump of bed thing and runs into the hallway the cardboard cutout is funny (that was a cardboad cutout right?) Is the coffin a refridgerator? NICE! Overall, very cool, it looks like you worked hard! Congrats on making HW!
Thanks for the review! Glad you liked it. When he's reading the book about vampires it was meant to be morning, which was why there was light coming in through the window. And yes, the coffin is a broken refridgerator that we keep in the shed. I can see why you'd be confused - we did have to cut an awful lot out. There's a longer and better version on our youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/pondworld - which might explain things more fully.
I really enjoyed watching this one! You have a good grasp on pacing, the story has a definite beginning, middle, and end! The music cues, costumes, and locations worked great.
The font for the narration is a bit out of place. But that was the only thing that caught my eye.
Question: at about 2:08, is the sheet covering on the left red? Might just be my crazy eyes.
Thanks for the review! Yes, the sheet is slightly red, because the film isn't completely black and white - we left a bit of colour in there. What font would you suggest for the narration?
Glad you enjoyed the film. There's a longer and better version at http://www.youtube.com/pondworld if you're interested.
Very cool! Sorry, I had no idea you responded to my review. I knew it looked red! Well honestly, everything else looked totally grayscale to me, but I'm weird haha. No specific font off the top of my head. Just watch some silent film and you'll know what I mean. Something old looking. I'll check out your movie right now!
This was cool. Loved the old school style. This seems more like it would go into the remake category more so than the reboot category, but it was great nonetheless. Location, props and costumes where especially cool.
I think this was good. I haven't seen the original but stil I think this is pretty good reboot (or remake). Great lighting, pretty good acting. I think that ship sailing on a sea effect was really well done.
9/10
This is a fantastic film! It really deserves to win. I love the old feeling of the piece, the old fashioned setting, costumes etc. I think the rats you used are adorable.
This is a lot better than the 1979 re-make which was shown in cinemas! While that was a lot more arty-farty, this was quick paced, made good use of humor, had a clear storyline and BRILLIANT over-the-top acting. I especially liked the scene in the inn with the peasants, the landlady and Jonathan Harker. The acting was obviously mocking the old fashioned style, and your actors carried this off really well, making the film lean towards being funny but still remaining a classic horror movie!
Hey!
I liked this a lot! The sets an story were done really well! I think that it seemed a bit rushed a parts and I think you kind of missed the point when it comes to remaking/rebooting. If you were going to remake Nosferatu, you wouldn't make it a silent film, you know what I mean?
Still thought it was great.

this one I liked a lot. The locations were amazing the pacing was good and the story (though cut down obviously for time) still worked.
To be honest the still for you video turned me away until the end. But holy smokes I'm glad I watched it. You did the old school silent film very well. The music, the grain and the actions. Cracked me up.
I wish the film itself would have been a little darker in the daylight parts...but that is minor. Whoever did the music for this should be applauded..nice work. The actors did theier actions well and had me wanting to see what happened.
I don't get what happened with the guy who jumped out of the window though...he just got bit? I figure he will be turning into a vampire...maybe show that once Nosfuratu died or something...just a thought.
Good luck to you this month.
