It was so badly acted! In a good way then, it made everything so funny! I was laughing out loud alot. Completely filled with jokes and cheesy lines, nice job on that. That book about martial arts and the action sequence when she's getting ready is also awesome. The background music was also nicely picked out. The dialogue in the beginning could have been edited better. Something about just makes it seem unrealistic (apart from the obvious). I think there's a second of silence that you could have cut that would have made it more seamless. Nice entry!
Love the scenes where you can see the characters socks funny stuff. Very cofortable lol
Emmerek! Haha, I love this guy and his mustache.
Oh snap, not chocolate peanut! Haha --- this girl seems more excited than sad or scared. The shot when she opens the door is way overblown, best to cut to a better angle so it's not like he's coming in from the sun.
Wish the delivery guy wasn't laughing when he was delivering his lines. Best to make your actors actually SELL their lines instead of chuckling while they say 'em, even if you're just being silly.
Audio levels are jumping around from scene to scene here. You want them to be stable from the start to the finish, so people don't have to keep moving their volume around.
LOVE the shot at 2:09, up the stairs!! Very cool, moves really well. Everyone seems like they are laughing and not actually scared :/
HA, I like that you made a fake book for this! Extra fake props are awesome touches.
This montage is cool. I like the added sound effects and the transitions. The shot with her legs appearing on camera is also cool.
at 3:32, you need to read up about the "180 degree" rule. Just makes scenes make more visual sense for the audience.
WHY IS EVERYONE LAUGHING! THEY SHOULD BE NOT-LAUGHING! The audience laughs, and the actors LIVE in the moment!
Well, ok. So. You're over time limit by a minute, so you can't go HW. Also, while I loved a lot of this, your actors weren't keeping a straight face. It's your job as a director to keep them from giggling, even if it is fun and funny. Playing it straight is how you want to do it. They can laugh afterwards. Shots were great, lighting was good. Audio was OK but the levels were just all over the place. You need to read up on the 180 degree rule.
Overall had a blast watching this and wish it didn't have the flaws I mentioned!!!
I LOVE emmerek :) Glad to see you guys still making stuff -- and this one has tons of improvements over your last work I've seen.
You guys remind me of KJL - maybe you'll start making some secret ninja-side-shorts as well??
I find your films so entertaining. =)
Love the old-style music and the over-acting, it's got comedic value. Although your actors should take their jobs more seriously.
I found the death scene at the beginning particularly funny - head buried in a pillow, ass in the air. Lol!
So good of the intruders to take their shoes off before entering the house, or do they just wear socks? Lol!
You might want to be careful about over-exposure from the outside light, it can really mess with your shots.
Love the lame jokes and the one-liners.
"Picture this!" Lol!
"Swift justice!" Lol!
"Women. Ha ha ha!" Prepare to get served. More Lol's!
Nice effort by you guys. Hopefully next time the acting will more true to the characters and the situation, and the film is kept within the time frame.
