Love it. This is exactly what I'm looking for in a video haiku. Besides the great story and punchline, you take full advantage of the 5/7/5-second format, by planning shots that pack a lot of detail. First shotâ€ foreground obstruction tells us that the room is packed with people, without the need for an extra, establishing shot, and you get two characters and lines of dialogue in. Second shotâ€ nice reverse shot, again, capturing two plot moments: crowd reaction and third character introduction. Ending the shot with his back to the camera also feels nicely suspenseful. And all the movement and rack focus effectively fits three shots into one. Third shotâ€ great punchline, and the other man walking away is a nice touch.

My only suggestions: There's so much crowd noise at the start; a quick crossfade might be less jarring. Also, a little bit of clapping audio could bridge the cut between the first and second shots; this edit is also jarring, too noticeable.

Nice work; you have my vote!

This guy's friends suck! I believe there should be equal cheering for him, anyone can get preggo, but coming out of the closet is a difficult thing that should be applauded. This one's a bit too POLITICAL for me! Ha.

Nice work! A very complete short. I like how you used the music to set up the scene then cut it out for extra effect. Well played on not using a record scratch. It's always tempting.

Your shot choice and composition works really well and handheld is exactly the way to go. I'm impressed with the amount of people involved. I know how hard it can be to get that many people involved at one time.

Great work and good luck!

Again, Griffin said exactly what we were thinking.

Shot 2 takes this one over the top for us. There is so much going on in the shot, and the addition of the camera movement allows you to tell a lot of story in a short amount of time, brilliant!

Great job! Funny as hell. What makes this work best is the short format. It was totally unexpected.
