Haha! Oh man, that was great. So funny... I really liked the simple concept. Time freezes at 4:00, so this guy can pretty much do whatever he wants! Nice idea. And I think what you did with it was really funny and original. When it transitions to him robbing the bank, with his fist pumped in the air, and that evil grin... I busted a gut. The generic metal music was ace too. And pissing at the White House... like that\'s the number one thing he\'d do if time stopped, haha. The dialogue was also great. Like when he notices time stopped, \"IS it four? It\'s 4 o\'clock... 4 o\'clock? Yess...\" and the \"You can\'t seee meee!\". Very appropriate ending as well, with the old \"gettin\' caught silly dancin\" bit...
The only things I would say are.... Get more close-ups. It\'s hard enough to see as it is on these crappy compressed files. I didn\'t really get a good look at your main actor, which is a shame. Also, if your doing the time freeze effect, personally I\'d rather the actors do it practically. Actual freeze framing looks kinda goofy. But that\'s a minor thing of course. Generally, just get a little more shot variation (close-ups of actors, cookies, etc.) and movement. It looked somewhat static. All that is fairly trivial though. Overall, \'twas a great fun movie. 7/10
this movie sucked!!!!
hehe..j/k its mine. there were some things about it that diassapointed me. like sam said (i cheated and read his review, but i was thinking the same thing), shot variation. i wish i had more close ups of faces to break up that long table shot. some of the sound transitions with the music were not good either. mainly the one right when he snapped out of his dream. the shot of the cookie didnt come out that great either. anyways, it was fn to try somethig simple, for a change. normally i get these big crazy idea that i have to compress to make a short film. this one was short in idea, so that was new for me. i finally got to use a greenscreen shot, too! rock.
thanx in advance for reviews and suggestions...
I liked this movie. Awesome green screening or however your did those shots. they came out nicely. I also like your idea and im still trying to figure out how you had her side of the shot perfectly still and yours moving. Maybe i will never know. All in all, good concept , good movie.
JEREMY DUDE THAT WAS FREAKING OSM!!!!! :-) You got a greenscreen!!! YAY!!! nice work duderz.
Very cool idea - I like that you used a digital zoom in the freeze scene to make it seem less like it was just a still frame. Trickery!
I would have rather had the guy move around on the green screen instead of just being in the same place every time - also your transition was a little ... too cheesy. If you wanted to be cheesy I would suggest a clock wipe or ... something along those lines.
I\'d like to see some more resolution as to what happened after this dude got all this money and did all these things - but you only had 4 minutes so it\'s forgiven!
Just what I\'d expect from FAST films.. an ORIGINAL idea with a cool concept. I\'m digging the effects, man! After reading your post, I get the fact that it\'s the guy imagining and now he\'s heading out. I love the dance he does, and it\'s a great ending. I love the story in this one! GREAT work, Jeremy!
YOUR actors are HOT!!! almost as hot as the director. SOund is a bit low. Again props on the freeze frame effect. But yeah shot variation would spice this up alot. GOod acting. The zoom towards the guy right as he realizes time has stopped, very nice.
I luv you Jeremy!!!
Another cool entry from F.A.S.T. and a very original concept with the fortune cookies tying into the "stopping" of time. The fade to indicate the passage of time worked well here. I thought the lighting was good in the kitchen as well. His dance at the end was classic.
Green screen is cool, I've never attempted it before. It definitely works well here and it isn't overdone like some entries that have been on from other groups in the past.
Peeing on the White House?? What would the W say??
Only thing I would say is I would have had some of the shots framed a little closer to the actors in the beginning scenes, it felt kind of far away at times.
Rockin' entry this week Jeremy, good job!!
