OH NO! david\'s ego triumphs again!!! i like that audio on the phone call. funniest part:
david \"ther can only be one\"
ratus: that doesnt even make sense.
i got a good laugh out of that.
haha...thats a silly headband. great VO, riley. items recieved in great condition.
poor lighting and sound. couldnt understand what was said in the car. i like the bullets going away from his face. i would like to know how you did that if you want to share a secret. overall good story line.
This film was perhaps the best NNC movie I\'ve ever seen-
but their were a number of technical problems that I\'m sure you\'ve heard already. Audio- does your camera have an external microphone port? You NEED to pick up a boom or shotgun mike ASAP- ranging from anywhere from $30 to really expensive- getting a good external mike would give you guys much better production quality. That was the biggest problem. In less major issues, lighting problems- dusk and time constraints giving you huge obstacles- bring down the film. As far as using open source music, Justin has several threads on this and my first two filmfights movies both had all non-copyrighted or original music. It doesn\'t take THAT long to search the resources found on filmfights or elsewhere to find decent music... you guys probably just.... didn\'t have time? Finally, the acting is variable flux- sometimes it\'s very good- and sometimes it\'s really forced or unenergetic. The solution to that is just to encourage yourselves throughout the process and take more takes. I understand it was finals week and you guys hardly had any time- but I think that\'s what hindered this movie from heavyweight... so in the future hopefully you can get a good ext. microphone and... more production time- to smooth out the technical problems.
I recall an earlier review that said you guys had the best plot of any of the films this week, and I have to whole heartedly agree. I love the concept of someone\'s ego reaching a critical mass and killing everything. I loved a lot about this movie, but you\'re lacking exactly what Himler has in abundance - equipment! Mix Himler\'s \'look\' in with this film and you\'d have a real winner.
With the split screens, I\'d suggest a more steady shot - with a tripod.
The acting isn\'t bad, I dig the graphic of the ego spreading out. A great touch!
Not sure why there\'s the shot when he says \"you have one hour\" and then fading to black - makes me think he knocked the people out and they ... went unconcious? See, if you\'ve got VO, you\'ve got to have it from the start and throgh the end - another thing you did right and Him\'z did wrong.
Damn that camera noise!
Yeah, I dig it, actually I would have rather put this in HW in hindsight.
Rating: 7.5/10
That split screen must have been hard to do, I assume that you used only one camera. I, like you, need a boom mic, desperately. Wow nice FX! That was pretty crazy bullet action! Wow crazy ending! I liked it a lot, it was so crazy. There can be only ONE!
