So, 8 minutes is REALLY long. I should put this in lightweights for going over time, but I\'ll be nice.
Good shots - I like the garbage can shot. I can feel this kid\'s rage! Whoa, sponge bob is getting his ass kicked. Ha --- the mom is great! Good character. \"I gotta ping pong it up!\" hell yeah, don\'t we all.
Good sound effects on the hand shake. Cartoony, fun.
You must be paying attention to your lighting in most of these scenes, there\'s the potential for these to be too dim, but it all is good. I like the ping pong montage music. ha! Love the shot when he gets hit by the ping pong ball.
Wow some serious knives around there.
Did you shoot this on an HV20?
I like the overhead shot when the main character is on the phone. Tossing the ball up looks cool. \"Having writers block! That\'s what!\"
This was a great 8 minute film! I haven\'t seen too many, but you did a GREAT job! I also like the credits at the end. Best thing I\'ve seen from ya so far!
The music worked on the parts you chose them for. At the beginning you showed frustration very well with the shots of your fingers and teeth and the spongebob scene was funny. Some of the shots I just think you over thought its not always about the fanciest shots, its about shots that make sense and shots such as the close up of the knife cutting the lettuce didn\'t make sense. I\'ll explain a little bit on this example in this scene the lettuce wasnt the focus the scene didnt even need the lettuce in it it was just something the mom was doing. If the lettuce had some sort of importance the close up wouldve worked but instead it throws off the focus of the viewer. Also some of the dialogue was a bit too napoleon dynamitish like fake stupid. It seems like a lot of people find it funny but in my opinion I\'m just sick of videos where they over dramatize stuff like how awesome they are in ping pong.

I liked it but I think it could have been just as effective if it were much shorter. Very decent job though especially with shot selection!
There were some really cool ideas in this but I feel this could use a little improvement. Your angles and camera work was sweet! No complaints about that! The part when the mom chopped the lettuce really had some impact. Your lighting needs to be improved however. It\'s really hard to see people with clarity and I assume you were only using the lighting available in your home. Like I told Outlaw, check Youtube for some film lighting tutorials. It\'ll really make the difference. Another problem this had was that you had Tarantino editing syndrome. You\'re way too in love with your footage (I have this problem too). You really needed to tighten up some scenes that drug on too long like the ping pong match and I personally would have dropped the cucumber beatdown since we already dealt with that character. The ending credits were creatively done as well. My only other criticism is try using music with permission from indy artists instead of top 40 hits. It\'ll give them some exposure as well as making your work more legit allowing you to submit to other film festivals.
you guys are master ping pongers! that dancing guy was great. thats cool you got your hot sister to be in it. the one cutting the veggie-tables. watch out for that cucumber, dood!
Dang, you guys jumped from 114 to 161 overnight. Hm, peculiar. You must be really good at uh advertising your video I guess. Especially since it\'s the second time your votes have skyrocketed in a short amount of time fast.
Good work, dudes.
That came off a lot bitchier than I intended hahaha.
I was just impressed how many votes you got. I whored my video out like a cheap prostitute, jumped up a few times, and flatlined a lot haha.
By the way, I like a lot of your shot selection. Especially the one where you\'re tossing the ball up into the shot. I think that\'s by far the best shot in this. And the opening shot coming up on the trash can is great too. And the mom character haha definitely hilarious/badass.
I do wish it was little less than eight minutes. It feels like it drags on a bit, but all in all still pretty good.
This is what I imagine Quentin Tarantino\'s old home movies looked like. Lol. That\'s a compliment. Epic soundtrack!
Well done guys! I thought the film flowed really well, it didn't feel like 8 minutes! It had all these great different characters in and none of them felt 2 dimensional. The lettuce shot worked REALLY well and sequences like the ping-pong match and cucumber fight were just strokes of genius to show this manic, crazy family! Overall I think it had a very well thought out story arc (ark?) and I'm glad you gave the names of all the songs at the end so I didn't have to ask you! Keep going because you guys have really good comedic timing and making comedies is obviously something you excel at!
