Oh, and I shot this with an HV30 and a Brevis 35mm lens adapter. We light with clamp lights and gels. Edited with After Effects and FCP. Shot in NYC.
You took the word \"Cliche\" and crapped all over it. Very Very Creative Indeed.
The special effects were soild and worked great for the film. The rewind effect, blood splatter, smoke effects. Kudos to the ending!
Very crisp cinematography. The shots were set up and angled very good.
\"Haha! Good! Because Im Pregnant!\"...Hilarious. LOL. Shes a great actress by the way. Tell her i think shes a great actress Justin!!
Great short film. The HV30 is damn sexy.
The effects were good and that lens adapter really made it look great but sometimes the camera was unnaturally shaky. This isn\'t bad when it\'s close-ups such as in the beginning, or when he\'s drinking the vodka, or even the close up of him on his laptop. But the medium shots of him pouring the vodka and as he\'s about to sit in front of his laptop could have been a little more solid.
After that point on it, the lighting was great and the slight slow motion effects worked great.
Nice blood splatter and the gun effects. I just got after effects can\'t wait to do stuff like that =]

Yeah, the problem is that you can't use a 35mm adapter and the cameras built in image stabilization. There IS a way to clear it up a lot in FCP (the "Smoothcam" filter) but it adds hours to rendering to apply it, so I didn't bother this time around. Oh, and I don't have enough money to afford rails yet, haha. Sometimes I don't mind it -- sometimes I do! With the closer 50mm lens I have it shows up a lot more too, so I used just a 35mm for this.
Brilliant!!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I especially like the lines in the opening. Hilarious. And the montage sequence was classic.
Way to go on the ending. I was totally not expecting that! I was expecting them to just live happily ever after haha.
Good work! :D
OH! And the gun shot at the very end was amazing. Set up nicely with the framing, motion and blood splatter.
I thought this wasa fantastic. I\'ll leave a more thorough review for it later on. (I\'m at work) But, it had a lot of that old Filmfights spirit in there. Great work guys!
That was pretty funny! There were a bunch of \"twists and turns\" through it, and that made it funny! I\'d say, for what I\'ve seen of your work, this is your best yet!

It\'s been quite a while since i\'ve written, and by no means would I call myself very hoaned in the craft anymore. But, here\'s my twenty cents.
First off this movie looks fantastic. You were definitely the inspiration to buy my camera. The effects at the begining look great, and I honestly had no idea what was going on when it cut to the writer the first time I watched it. I really dig the lighting on these shots. Gives it kind of a spooky almost horror movie vibe. I remember watching movies written by Michael before, and that they had the same kind of awesome Twilight Zone-esque vibe. The acting is pretty good also. The audio pops a bit in some places it seems, and seems kind of loud. (forcing myself to come up with something negative) All of the effects look amazing in this. The end was really nice too. I\'m sorry this review didn\'t have much negative to say. I dug it, and think this is exactly what a filmfights movie should look like now. The game has been raised, and I would love to see this level of quality from more submitters. Myself included. Viva La Justin Johnson! Viva La Filmfights!
Thank you Rex!! Dude, I would LOVE to see more from you! (and I can't wait until I do, because it'll happen, and soon my friend -- life is too short to get caught up in it without driving towards your passion) ... (I'm sure that meant something ... I'm tired and it's late!)
Great work this month, Justin. It was a real hard call between this one and the Clarity/FAST submission. You ought to edit out the orange tips on your guns though. I\'m sure you can figure it out since you\'re so good at doing other post production effects.
Totally should have tried to edit out the tips - problem is that we were shooting on an ORANGE backdrop! Otherwise it might have been super easy. Turned this around overnight too, to meet the deadline. Maybe will try to fix up for a final version.
i want your fucking camera, justin! glad we entered the same week as the FF guru, himself. make sure you watch our review show that will hopefully be done, soon. holla.
A good movie comes down to 20% equipment and 80% work. A good camera will do you no good if you don't use it right.
