I know I have a submission in this fight ... but I voted for you. When I watched this the first time, I honestly started tearing up. I was at work too so it was kind of embarrassing, but you've always rocked my FF world - since the START flinchy! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect, more retrospective, better explanation of the community here and what makes it special just to have an excuse to make a film.
I love seeing all the old bits. It warms my .. bits.
But yeah, this should honestly be like the video that people see when they are first starting to learn about what we're all about. It's about the peeps, it's about getting better, it's about learning how to promote yourself. In the end, it makes us do what we love.
makes me wish i had submitted some fights over the years instead of just watching
Very inspirational dude, brings back the fun memories I had of making fake heads, exploding faces, and doing something fun with my friends on a weekend. Cheers!
Like a Film Fights vidblog. I enjoyed seeing all the classics mashed up together. Made me feel guilty for not submitting.
Awesome video, Mike. Brought back 6 years of great memories. Also nice to see 4 of my videos made it into your movie.
Your video makes me sad that I didn't submit to this fight.
I just happened to have ordered delivery from Grimaldi's before watching this which makes the memories come full circle.
"You got fucked int he ass on that one" -Phil. father and Son Tuesday. In other words, Ed Flinch just kicked our ass, and I am happier because of it. Plus, I was in that film , so I can share the win. Ha. This was awesome. Way, way fucking better than the BS I submitted. Ed Flinch FTW.
Wow... This almost got me crying. Just all of those memories and years doing filmfights. I\'m really impressed by this and all of the work you put into getting the different film clips and splicing them together. It looks like you had almost 100 pieces of footage! Just wow! I wish I could have gone to the ff cons too :(.
Aw man just love man, just love...
This is gorgeous. It\'s hard to say much that people haven\'t said before. This brings back so many wonderful memories. Not just of FF, but of the conventions and meeting all you wonderful people. Ed Flinch is a pheonom, and will always continue to amaze me. Thanks for taking me back with you. I still remember saying something along the lines of \"Your going to have to put this in your vidblog\" after saying the line about love and wanting to make movies forever and everything. You really nailed it. Gorgeous. This is my vote.
Wow, really nice vid. Not having been around as long as the vets here I have little right to be as taken back as others but as a film maker I can certainly understand the message put across. This is a great vid about a great site for people...well people like us. Making movies is the best part of life sometimes.
Great video!
Yeah! Now this is why I spent 15 minutes trying to remember my login info! Nice job, Mike!
This is definitely one of the top submissions I've ever seen on film fights. This just inspires me to sit up all night long and write and edit films. Makes me glad to come back to film fights and finally submit a new one soon! And there are ff cons? I never knew that!
This is a great walk through Film Fights history, and the simple, but inventive motion effects for including all those films creates a beautiful landscape. With your set-up, you left me craving more of a story. After seeing your character dwell on the 21 votes, I interpreted the ending as a commentary on Film Fights - that votes can be exciting or discouraging, but it's less about winning, and more about the process and the journey. We're all filmmakers at heart, so the act of production is the satisfying part. If that message was your intent, kudos, because it came across well. Even still, the ending feels unbalanced, not as substantial as the set-up, and not as satisfying because of it. But I say this as the guy who constantly struggles to tell a well-rounded story.
CONGRATS on the win! I'm glad to see Ed Flinch take one home.
