LOVE THE MUSIC ON THIS ENTRY! It's a bit too loud though. Where the heck did the butterfly in the background come from at the start of the film? It looks awesome, hah. Didn't notice it the first time, but yeah, it's surreal. You've got a lot of problems with your lighting changing from shot to shot. Even your color temperature is changing. (meaning whites and darks look diff in diff angles). LOVE the random kid with the drawn on facial hair for no reason, haha.
When the monster gets knocked down he should be whimpering or something. Odd that he's just quiet. You should check out some better stock footage for that gun over at DetonationFilms.com - also there's a short glitch in the video when your lead is putting the gun back in his shirt. Then after that some kind of glitch in the color correction. Also, whatever kind of monster you used ... I have no idea what it is. It's not a werewolf or a standard Halloween beastie.
Love the early bird line - actually very funny delivery on it too.
To wrap up - music is pitch perfect, but too loud, lots of stuff going on here which is good - shows you have some producing chops. You went a bit over time limit, which should have been easy to fix. Looking forward to what you can whip up next!!!
Thanks for submitting, man! It's my job here to make sure you guys get better at making flicks :D
Yah, if people don't have avatars they are stuck with my ugly mug! HA!
I love seeing really young groups enter. That automatically makes it a smidge more fun. Before I even review, let me make a request. PLEASE keep submitting over and over, at least until you make a few HWs. You guys are obviously new to the game, so you can expect a few LW entries at the beginning. OK, what could you do better? The music was too loud, couldn't hear your people. A few of your actors also were too quiet. Nice try on the gun shot effect, but the graphic was kind of "squared off" on the edges. Liked the gunshot sound. I'd start with that stuff for now and then learn audio blending and all that stuff. Even though 30sec is easy to shoot, it's hard to make the story good. I can't wait to see what you shoot for something longer. BTW, remember when you shoot inside, add more lighting (even if its just ringing in lamps from another room), set your white balance, and shut off any noisy appliances, fishtanks, ect. You'd be surprised what noises you don't notice until you're editing. Cheers!
good to see some young filmmakers in the mix! Loved the music and how friendly everyone was to mr johnson. To help, 2 of the people walking up to mr johnson had 2 different establishing shots of them walking up to mr johnson, this makes the cuts kind of weird. Try just using one shot of each person walking up to say Hello. This would also be quicker and could make it funnier, then if you want a second shot of them cut to a close up of just their face saying it. Good work guys!
"Emmerek Entertainment" is my new favorite film group.
KUDOS x 1000.
HOLY SHIT. KIDS ARE ENTERING NOW?!?! i thought this was cute. I like how seriously good the kids was acting. Watch your music level.... couldn't hear your talent at one point (bike riding by -- could have been the direction). Good concept for 30 seconds. Your screen size wasn't right (you already know that). Loved the music.
Keep it up - you guys should be better than me in 2 months!!
