I love the lighting in the interview segment. That vampire reminds me a bit of Nick Cage. I love that you dubbed in the "OOH LETS ATTACK HIM!" - something surreal and silly about it. I'm sure those teeth were fucking up your audio.
I'm not sure how we go from the interview segment to the vampires on the street. I guess that's what they do in interview with a vampire? Been so long since I've seen it. Also, your posterframe has the accursed interlacing :/
This was cool though. I give it an A- !
Also, at the end I wasn't sure what the vampire said -- it's "GREGGGORRYYY!" right? sort of also sounds like "AGREEEED!!!"
yea i was trying to say GREOGGGORRYYY, but those teeth were huge and would fall out if you opened your mouth. I tried the voiceover but it didnt have the same feeling behind it so i kept the original.
Yeah, I think the original is pretty funny --- even if we don't know what he's saying there's something just goofy about vampire-teeth-talk. Felt the same with our entry. More fun with the mumbling.
hahaha vampires these days are a lot less badass than the victorian ones. they all have feelings and shit. pretty gay. props on not doing over the top twilight references, i was expecting some to roll my eyes at but they didn't come!! I laughed
we couldnt single twilight out when every new vampire thing to come out is about vampires in love and their feelings... But we had to say something about how much the vampire image has changed (in a less scary way).
Audio and lighting were decent. Lighting of the gay vampire could have been softened a bit. Some of the audio cuts some too harsh. Acting by interviewer was really good. The end joke could have been better. Focused more on how flamboyant he was rather than his sexual preference.
yea i agree about the end, we originally had him attacking his prey in a very flamboyant/funny way, but damn 30 seconds turned out to be quick.
Yeha, keeping it under 30 without and still giving it substance turned out to be the biggest challenge for most of the groups, I think. Good excersize. I wish I would have filmed my "real" entry. I think I would have learned from it.
Oh snap, I am digging the 'Interview with the vampire' nod there, homie. I also like how it sort of randomly goes from that to having a news show style lower third with the guy's name, like it's some dateline special or something and we've just caught the tail end of it.
Was Gregory's first bit of dialogue dubbed? Because those were some big freaking teeth and if he could talk that clearly with them in I am truly impressed. And a bit frightened.
haha yea we had to dub it... You couldnt understand a word he said.
MY FILM: Thanks for watching our first film fights entry ever! I was (adamthegreat) on the forum since 2004, but this was the first time i actually got something entered (and barely). We had an idea we loved for 2 weeks, planned to film it the night it was due, and our main actor couldnt show up. We had to write/film/edit this as our plan B video in around 3 hours, so go easy on our first FF film.
Hahaha I LOVE it. Gregory the Gay Vamp, classic. "236 years" with a raising of the roof, can't beat that. Very funny, great job.
I liked the yell at the end. GREGORY! I believed that he was truly annoyed.
I liked this -- felt too much of the interviewing part.... more of the street part woulda been funny. maybe better teeth next time so your actor can actually talk.
WELL LIT!! GOOD JOB!! even though it is obviously lit (shit mine we used a Maglight out at a cemetery) it is still important you used it. Your audio was very well too.
Loved the idea.
