Hmm, again (like with Procoverage), I found the concept to be good, but you just didn't sell me on it. It was kinda slow paced, with all the time you held certain shots you probably could have fit in another segment, or told us a bit more about the product (made a joke about it being for monsters, whava) I would have preferred the VO to be more sympathetic.
Also this wasn't really filmed in any sort of 'commercial' way, as it was a spoof of antidepressant commercials I think you could have followed their ques more, but still had the vampire, that would have helped it hit a lot harder.
I saw this was first listed as a HW, but downgraded to a LW. What happened? I haven't watched this yet pending my review show.
After watching it a couple times, and looking at the current slate of HWs, I changed my mind. Was close but just not quite there. Trying to be asshole-ish level selective on HWs for this version of FF.
Technically, this was pretty sound. I like that he's very sad about the garlic. The voice over audio sounds like and crisp. LOVE the church shot at the end. I like the read of the last line. Just wasn't sold on the commercial ... it's anti-depressants for vampires? What's the catch, they're just super super strong anti-depressants? Does Abilify come in a pill? A shot? Do you find it in the church? I see a 'before' shot but not too much of an 'after' shot of how Amplify will change this dude's life.
This would be a 'middleweight' for me. (ps sorry about all the technical quibbles about getting it on the site!!)
Well, not sure all what to say about this one. I was there when you made it, so if I were going to offer criticisms, it should have been then. I thought the pacing was really good. That was the best part. The only two things I really didn't like was that you used the name of a real product. I think it would have been much funnier if it was something made up and perhaps vampire sounding. The VO was a little too much like a radio DJ. Very bassy and you could here the little sounds "puffs" hitting the mic. I wish he would have done one boosting the mids a little and not so close to the mic. I guess the determining factor was that you didn't sell the commercial aspect of it enough. I wish I could offer more advice on how you could have done that, but I can't. I still think this was HW caliber. Especially in comparison to some of the others.
good quality, nice production work... Overall though the idea just didnt stand out to me. I would have liked to seen the product also.
Heather this is really good. I didn't get the ending but that's my fault not yours!
sup miss rose I didn't know I hadn't reviewed this I thought I had!!! the vampyre voice and music is very fitting, I love wacky cliche vampyre accents.
does anybody eat garlic powder straight? I think it would have been a bit more show and less tell if that was incorporated in better...like all his friends having a good time together laughing and eating garlic bread or something.
aren't anti depressant commercials supposed to be uplifting at the end? like you could have gone into colour and shown the benefits of taking the drug!
is abilify a play on words because if so I don't get it at all =(
digging the vampyre makeup!
the timing in this was pretty good, it doesn't feel rushed and fits the 30 seconds very nicely
good solid entry
I think what this was really missing was an effect where he doesn't appear in the mirror that he's looking into. That would have really sold the Vampire aspect
