Unearthed!
Genre: Time CapsuleRules: In this film, your characters find a time capsule and must deal with it's contents, be they DANGEROUS, MAGICAL, or outright silly.
I love how you used your sickness to drive your character in this. This brought me back to that great CF spot you did oh all those years ago. That blue suit is awesome. Was that a part of your halloween costume?
I like the potion shots.
I think you're repeating the 'cartoon eyes' a bit much. We get it! Cartoon eyes! I kind of wish that the voice over audio at the start would sound a little less polished and a bit more 'recorded' - I think there's def a difference between a character's inner monologue and us hearing a recording from a tape.
LOVE the craziness of the cartoon eyes segment. It's that little extra dash of weirdness that takes this to the next level (much like the 'back in time' shot in Envelope's flick). Motion tracking looks GREAT. God I love motion tracking.
When it cuts back to him/you in the car with the horn honking, love that brutal transition. The woman speaking on the phone while we watch him all comatose is GREAT. Hah. And sort of tragic at the same time.
Del shot this? Pretty awesome. Didn't know Del was a SHOOTER! Looked good. It's hard for me to give up behind the camera work - I just don't trust too many people and it's distracting when I'm trying to act ... thinking about what I'm going to have to edit with when all is said and done, heh.
YO DAVE! I am SO GLAD you submitted. This is a charming and fucked up film. Hopefully you're glad you submitted to - what a trooper, pushing past the sickness. You rock dude. This new 'David Seger' film group is gonna do big things, I can tell.
I really loved this entry. Something completely original that is totally entertaining. I love the abrupt cut from the character's fantasy to the inside of the car, that was perfect. I also enjoy how you mixed the voice over with what was going on, and added the cartoon clips too. Everything about this was incredibly well polished.
Man, I am a sucker for films staring only one person, and I gotta say, this worked out really well. It was awkward, quirky, off putting, but also inviting. (That's just me stringing together random words). This was fun to watch, and I hope this is a sign of things to come, with lots of submissions from yah Mr. Segar
This is so sincere and deadpan that you almost convinced me that it I was watching a serious documentary! Love the ending, I burst out laughing when it cut to the ambulance. This is so completely nutty it's brilliant! :P
Wow, there's an element of insanity to this that not only do I love, but I also applaud.
This idea is CRAZY, and I LOVE it. The goofy-ass look you gave to this psychopath is wonderful and the last line of the film, "I pray to God wherever his mind is now I hope he found it" is truly great.
This is a dark comedy, maybe not black but definitely gray. The directing is real good and the voice over work is fantastic. I haven't seen all the vids yet but i think this is my vote. Great job.
I feel I'm always too complimentary, so I guess one thing I wasn't thrilled with was the girl's voice in the end. I feel it could've been a little more...believable. Maybe it's the fact that the guy's VO's were so great she just kind of fails in comparison. She's not bad, just not on the same level.
Very funny! Great music track. I like how you don't introduce the female voice as a character, that might of been too much or a case of "it came out of no where". You kept the focus on your main character. Great job!
a short film with just one person in it is hard to do, and this is really well done. The actor is good, the music is awesome, the idea is really good. This is awsome. "my name is lambert golflodel" made me laugh. I really liked this.
The concept alone is hysterical. The delivery for the first"Cartoon Eyes" is pitch perfect. It briefly lost a little bit of momentum after the novelty of the concept wore off, but it won me back with a great climax and ending. Funny.
<3 <3 THE MASTERS ARE BACK! Oh shit, I'm scared this was soooo good! Awesome animation too! lol The end was a little predictable, but still amazing :D
Really, really funny. Time limit was short, and I like that. Character's voice was great. Opening music was a little loud compared to voice. Had to turn speakers down. White balance seemed a little off in a couple shots. Especially in the store. Blue suit and dark nature comedy of this film reminded me of punch drunk love for some reason. Really loved the idea for this one. My pick for the week.
