If you want to resubmit your film with a fix, I'll totally allow that (you'll stay in your LW class though).

Just submit again for the same fight and I just have to approve it again. I think you'll keep your vote count as well/

Now that I've seen the end of this, the family video at the start has a lot more meaning - a sign of a moving film.

I like when audio / music comes from a 'real' source, like a TV or a stereo. Wes Anderson does that a lot. I think it's a charming addition.

I like that you just showed a shot of the note and didn't actually read it aloud to us.

Good work on fading out the music when he goes into the other room. I find it's not a bad idea to actually use your camera to record a song so it actualyl sound more like it's coming from a source instead of just in your editing software.

The song is WAY too happy for the video. Really sad ending. Sorry to see that.

This was pretty good, but I didn't really believe the reaction at the end. I think if you had your character drop the phone instead of just putting it on the hook, it would have given more impact. Also I think I found out my family died I wouldn't just lean against the wall.

I also suggest that you explore more with camera angles.

Again. Good Job.

Like the effect used with the home movie footage. The square that's blurred. A good mixture of shots. I like the gag with the stocking. The reaction to his parents' death isn't enough for me. Vocally, he doesn't change, and physically he just puts his head up against a wall, which is good body language, but I would've preferred seeing his face react.

The ending was pretty much a last resort. I had it where he would drop the phone then it cut to like a close up of the phone just rocking back and forth with the police still talking. But that ending made it go way over the time limit :/

Is this real childhood footage? Looks really square for 90's footage. Not saying it isn't real, just an observation. (edit. watching it again, I see it is recorded from a tv screen. makes more sense). I like the music you chose for your alarm, because it made me want to gouge my eyes out...like alarms are supposed to. White balance in living room! Wide angle lens? You pause a long time in front of the TV. I like how the music from the video gets quieter when you switch rooms. The blue title screen on the TV didn't fit right on the screen. You could fix that in photoshop (assuming it's a still) pretty easy. That worked out well. That's a long mother fucking phone cord. Filter on the phone was not that great. OH NOEZ, they died! That is horrible. The guys on the phone wasn't very convincing, though. Maybe it's a trick! Pretty upbeat music playing over the credits. I would have went with something sadder. OH NOEZ, again, someone really died. Only 43, an uncle? Credits seem a little long, but I don't mind as much when they are at the end (vs. the beginning) of a movie. Overall fairly entertaining. Definitely needed some trimming, though. Don't forget to set that white balance. Lighting was tolerable, but a few extra lights would have made it better looking. This was good, but I know you can do better. I went and watched a bunch of your shit on youtube. I liked what I saw, so I have high expectations from you.

Lol yea, the childhood footage was just filmed off the tv, and to try to hide any kinda give aways of that i added that retro film frame look to it. :D
The living room white balance and lighting was actually perfect. I used a 3 point lighting system for most of the video. it was just my color correction choice that made it look odd.
The pause in front of the tv was actually where a voice over of a new report foreshadowing the end was but when i exported it seemed to disappear.
And actually the dedication was for my dad :/
Hopefully ill get into the swing of things soon and Ill shine, just like i don on my YT :D

Oh, sucks about your dad, man. Sorry. You prolly get sick of hearing that, though.

I read somewhere that you said there was a missing VO, but I thought it had been corrected. You know you can fix it and upload the correct version without losing your vote count.

Just to be clear, I DID like effect of the old footage, I was mostly just rambling some observations at that point.

nice changing the music volume between rooms. Sorry to hear about what happened. This makes it hard to review this because it has a lot of meaning. Honestly, i think it could have been shorter. he takes a while to turn on the tv. this was decent.

yea the tv thing was suppose to have a voice over to foreshadow the ending. But apparently i deleted it in editing and didn't notice.
