Wow. This was really great. Though a little bit prodictable, it didn't take too long to figure out how it was going to end.

I really liked the use of the "Home Movie" effect. It really helps it pull it together. Though I think on the other shots you could have explored the camera angles a little bit instead of sitting stationary.

Once again. Great job.

I couldn't agree more on the other angles, however we only had 24 hours to put the whole thing together and just the two of us. Thanks for the feedback! We're at work on a couple of new fights for the upcoming year.

Yeah, the beginning was stationary. But still it was a great entry!

Thank you so much! When you envolke emotion in your audience, isn't that the ultimate in what you're trying to accomplish? I'm glad you felt something.

I think the acting is really good. All the reminiscing is really believable, especially with the laughter.
Oooh! Remembering! I was wondering about how it was lonely, didn't cross my mind that he would be imagining her there. Great effect with the fade out, looked really good!

Thanks...it's a true story! My last name is difficult to spell, and I jokingly asked her how to spell it. She was so excited she answered, " Oui" ( yes in French) not hearing the question! She thought I asked her what her answer was!!!! It's a great real life moment because she WAS a deer in the headlights! The "pull my finger" was HER idea for this film! We're glad you enjoyed it!

OK, haven't gotten to the movie, yet, but the titles themselves are already longer than one of the other entries. Gotta keep the pace going. 30 second credits work better at the end, imo. Anyway...

Good, shot of the whiskey and cigarettes! Oooh, and I like these older people, already. I think you could cut back to the actors during some of the "home video" parts. Dialogue seemed really natural. A little drawn out, but kept my attention. OH NOEZ. This actually made me feel sad inside. I don't think a FF movie has ever genuinely done that to me. I think it might have hit me a little more emotionally had things not been revealed on "pull my finger". Wow, though. This needed a some tightening and trimming, but I was really very touched by the ending. Great idea and acting.

I didn't like the long creds either, but I thought maybe they were going for like an 'old style' movie ... where the credits roll long at the start.

AvatarJeremy

Yeah, those old school movies used to do that. Audiences must have a shorter attention span, now-a-days. I think Deathproof and Planet terror had the credits at the beginning, too, didn't they? I know something I saw recently did. It annoyed me then, too. Haha.

OLDER people??? OLD SCHOOL movies???? You whippersnapper, you! ha ha ha... for the record, I wanted the upside music of the into not to conflict with the somber part of the couple! Just as in the end, I wanted to use the dramatic underscore for the reveal. The comments here have been helpful for me and we are already working on future film fights. Prepare yourself for LOTS of camera work! Thanks also for your creative and constructive comments... well except for that "older folks" thing..... now stand in the corner, Junior! Ha ha ha.... all good fun!

Hahah. By "older" I meant older than the teenyboppers we are used to. Always refreshing to see people from other age groups.

I would have a single suggestion that would have earned my vote. More camera angles during the conversation at the table. If the actors are not moving...the camera kind of needs to. Otherwise the scene relies on the actors strengths to pull it off...without Dustin Hoffman or Johnny Depp...you kinda get boned.
LOVED the concept of this short though! Please keep up the good work!

We had 24 hrs. to put this together, and yes, I agree, more angles would be better. We were simply up against the clock this time. Hopefully we moved people's hearts. I'd settle for that. Funny you should mention Dustin and Johnny both of whom appear courtesy of Columbia....unfortunately not in this picture! Yuk, yuk, yuk! Thank you for your comments and encouragement.

The actors are good, The typical old couple. Theres not much I can say about this, its very complete, not much you could add. It's definatly a lonely christmas. I liked it a lot.

I almost didn't take this seriously because of the intro... but once the home video (it looked real[?]) came on I must say it did bring about actual emotion. Good job.

i enjoyed it, but a 30 second intro come the fuck on that's how long some of our fights are, the intro should not be 15% of the movie

apart from that the acting and setup was very enjoyable, good solid gut punch at the end even if it was obvious heh

The opening credits had me ready for something in the style of an old hollywood film, so I was not entirely ready for the older couple. I enjoyed it however after I got over that. Good video, good ending.

There's considerable concern for the long titles up front. Our focus was on the music bed, and trying to edit according to that. We did play the "old movie" angle just a bit with retro artwork in the credits. I considered doing it in B&W for a while.

I'm so glad you could get over seeing us "seasoned actors" in what we've discovered is a much younger forum! Ha! Ha! It's a new experience for us to be called, "OLD". LOL.

The story is TRUE. I AM a rascal! The theme of this fight is " LONELY Christmas", and what could be more lonely, than someone alone at Christmas, in too much grief to celebrate it and his love living in his head? A credit to my wife who came up with the ring concept. I thank you for your kind remarks to these two.....OLD people! Ugh...I need a nap.

nice audio quality so far.... hmmmmm.... 32 seconds of credits completey unnecesary at the beginning of a 3 minute short. your actors... are pretty good, especially for one long shot... cool using home footage. one thing i don't like they are talking like they know someone is watching them - or don't bring this up. oh man. that is sad. good depressing music!!! to fit it!!!

OK. CUT IN!!!! DO MEDIUM SHOTS OF EACH PERSON OR SOMETHING!! CLOSE UP O OSMETHING. the ending with him just laying down his head.... i feel something else should have happened....

with that said -- kudos using older actors -- they did REALLY good; especially for long shots. the ending really was sad to me too!!
