Ah, THAT'S where it's from. I knew it sounded familiar. I guess Xmen in my review. Hehe.
You can't go wrong with LEGOS. That tank looks totally awesome. I like your shots in this. Looks very pretty. Haha, great twist at the end.
To improve this, I would have shown a little more 'scope' - show us the army amassing around this guy - or at least perhaps start us far away from his face and then we zoom closer and closer with each subsequent shot. Then finally for the reveal we punch back and LOLZing commence.
Oh and I like the VO too
I give this film a B+
The VO is AWESOME! The only thing I would have thought differently on is perhaps adding film pops and scratches to give it a "news reel" look!
A+
i also had a version with a news bar and stuff but it didn't looked great but a few scratches could be in place
What is this audio from? Not original is it? Xmen? Anyway, it wounded pretty good, ESPECIALLY if it was original work. I really, really like your shots in this. Especially the was you used focus and depth of field. Gave these little guys more dimension. Seemed kinda yellowish. Don't know if that was done intentionally or from lack of white balancing. Either way, I would have rather it been nice true colors. It felt propaganda-ish until the little guy got thumped. Camera work was definitely my favorite aspect of this. It was my vote.
I would have loved to see a few shots of the castle, My husband's a huge Lego fan. Great concept, loved the tanks. I knew I heard the speech before. Great job.
This was amusing. I would've liked to see a bit more animation of the legos than just shots of them, but the camera work was decent. Also you apparently used sound from some major film (can't pin it down), which I think lacked originality. But the end was so clever it made it all worth it! Great job.
okay, I haven't played it, but I'm pretty sure the VO is from one of the "Gears of War" videogames.
oops, sorry didn't see the replies... this was a fun short. :)
I liked the helicopter shot but i thought it could have had someone in it. It was okay, it felt like you used some of the same shots twice, the ending made it tho. A while back you did one for the new years film fight and there was good efects there, why didnt you use some of that here?
Very cool, I like how you managed to get that handheld feel at a lego man scale. I'm digging the VO as well, and the ending is pretty much perfect.
The only downside is that some of the shots felt like they repeated, or were just the same thing form a slightly different angle. I would have loved to have seen more variety in them.
The handheld fauxing for the tiny scale was a really nice touch. You fit this around the Voice-Over so well.
I really enjoyed this, and the final payoff at the end is great, reminding you that it is just a little Lego person.
Because really, aren't we all tiny Lego people in the grand scheme of things?
