CATS! I love cats. Poor cats are always being down trodden. Catonians, ha. Meow excessively, ha! This ends very abruptly. Maybe you could pretend like the cat had taken over the airwaves and he was cut off at the end when his cat signal is finally jammed? A good start to something, but just not quite there. Video quality left a little to be desired (tripod maybe?) but that's not as important as concept, which is decent.

I give this film a C+

Lol...I have a cat that would totally join this cause!
I also dig this concept alot, but there is something missing in the final product, perhaps making the film look grainey, like the signal has been improperly hacked, or old school new footage?

thanks for your great comments, the original vid to this is about a minute long. Due to time i had to shorten it up. and yes this version does end abruptly. I would love to post the full version but i don't know if you would except it.

I get the impression this was done on video mode with a point and shoot camera and none of it was editing on the computer. Mainly because I saw you shooting it in the mirror, it was all one shot, and the FF intro was filmed n the computer screen, rather than edited in. If I am correct, props on actually using what you have to make something, rather than using it was an excuse not to participate. With the right lighting, you can probably make the video on a point and shoot look tolerable. Maybe even getting a cheap external mic could help the audio. You are almost going to have to learn to do some editing in the computer to really take this up a notch, tho. Again, I am making presumptions, here. The dialogue was good. The idea was neat given your limitations. Not too shabby.

I use windows movie maker for all my movie editing, I have pretty well mastered it. I didn't download any production music like I usually do for the rest of my vids I have. I had an issue with downloading the intro tho, I did the one thing I wasn't proud of; I recorded it using my digital camera. If you would like to see the full version of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmL8RdoO2bA

there ya go. Thanks again for your comments. I promise I will do better on the next one.

Eh, guess I was wrong. That's what I get for making presumptions. Mainly what lead me to think that was the Ff intro and the fact that it was all one shot with no audio or credit work. Given that I now know you had access to an editing program, I would say that some shot variation would have spiced things up for me a bit. I will go watch the longer version, tho. Thank you for sharing that with us.

I like the idea with the cats (they really do control the universe, if you didn't know). But I think the point-and-shoot killed it for me. If you had taped your cat for 10-15 minutes you would have had a ton of footage to work with in editing so that the animal's position and movements matched the dialogue in an ironic and funny way. Believe me, you obviously have a cat.. you know what I'm talking about. Lol. But it still had it's charm.

Many of the video I have is of Mittens playing with a lazer pointer and other toys. I also have a few shots of him fighting with my other cat Simba. Nothing of him really glaring at the camera.

you can see you in the window, using a digital camera. I see irony in the fact that your filming a cat that wants to be freed from its prison. I liked the idea though, cats are cute, maybe you could have taken the darker path and maybe made your cat press a button and then have explosion stock footage. and threaten the .... idk goverment? like in austin powers when Dr evil is on the big tv threating the president with his "lazer beam"

Well, I really liked the concept on this one. I agree with others who say it could have used some shot variety, mainly because it seems like your cat loses interest in the camera a few times, and some military-esque background music would have really made this one great. The ending was a bit abrupt as well.

Check out http://musopen.com/ they have alot of songs by the US Navy marching band that have a good military feel.
