hahah! great sequel...and who would have thought you could top the first one?
Okay, this sequal like many others fails to capture the essence of the first film, which is one of my fav\'s from One Trick. But for \"made up on the spot\" its pretty good. The end was cool. The lighting was good for the effect on Marissa, who may I say is always a pleasure to see, and she can actually act well. While not as good as the first, I still give it a 7/10.
Omg! Insane! Fabulous sequel! Great idea! And amazing green screen work! This video was a huge treat filled with excellent comedy and crazy syrup, not to mention a kitty! Yay! Haha the cuts were great also One Trick Pony never fails to amuse me. The part Marissa put her hand in the blender did make me squirm. Crazy effects! Crazy awesome!
Loved the beginning. The shaky camera work was annoying after a while. I know you were trying to set the mood and all, but I just didn\'t really dig it after it went on kind of long. Why do they hate syrup so much? Why is there syrup in the house if they hate it so much?
Hey it\'s my movie!
I wanted to get this done in time for the actual fight start, but things have been a bit crazy recently, as always. As with all my movies, I was pretty sure it sucked during the filming and editing, but I cut and cut and it came down to being a decent-enough film.
I really wish I would have had Marissa put her hand up over the background of the room instead of right in front of her shirt - would have made my life a lot easier and saved about three masking layers in AFX. :P
Thankfully compression hides the shoddy craftsmanship!
I discovered recently that all my movies have something to do with a kind of food, and if Marissa is in them she\'s in some sort of awful pain. Rather unnerving, I need to get away from that!!! Don\'t worry Marissa, I love you!! Sorry!!!
Seemed just like a Michael Bay movie, though it was more believable! Nice effect on removing the hand at the end...unless you actually did for real...
good job. It\'d get a 5 if it weren\'t for the tripod in the shot! :( lol
Freakin Hilarious. Good acting. Well edited. Your acting was right on and is what made me laugh. However since this was a late entry i already voted for a different one before i could watch this. :( . . . and i would\'ve voted for this one.
Justin, very funny Syrup sequel. Where is that music from the beginning from, I swear I\'ve heard it before. Did you have a roommate at one point who flipped out because he got syrup on him? Marissa was good in it as well. Liked the camera effects. Good job!
Justin.
Excellent fun!
I think much of what I like is your character and choice of dialog:
\"I\'ve told you three times already:
No, No, ... Maybe,
(and then I said \'No\')
and this time I\'m going to say \'No\' again.\"
\"How can anyone be afraid of waffles?\"
\"No, No... Put \'em back. Refreeze \'em. Put \'em back in the freezer and take \'em back to the store.\"
\"Please. I don\'t need \'em and I don\'t want \'em, and you can\'t make me...Need or Want them. Becuase both of those things are things I Don\'t Need or Want.\"
\"They\'re ready!\"
This video made me really happy. The intro may be slightly too long (just barely), but the music is great, so I didn\'t care too much. I think I enjoy this video so much because it\'s very simply-produced, but the end result is near flawless. Justin, you and I have very different styles, but I think some of the novice filmfighters can learn a lot from this video, specifically. So hey everyone, listen up. This video is basic, but effective. There are only two characters and one location, but it\'s not boring. Try to keep your ideas simple, because there\'s a lot of other crap you have to deal with in video. I don\'t know how much of the lighting is natural, but either they have a nicely-lit apartment, or Justin threw some extra lights up. See how clean things look because of it? Lighting can make a world of difference. I\'m pretty sure he is using the mic on the camera, but he makes this work by shooting in a quiet environment, and he and Marissa project their voices well enough to be heard. Also, he keeps the camera close up and dramatic. It doesn\'t hurt that Justin is a good editor, but I can\'t stress enough the importance of basic production techniques like quality lighting, sound, and thoughtful camerawork. Further, Justin keeps this video fairly short, and the action moves very quickly, not to mention that it\'s very funny. Great job, man. You always set the bar impressively high. But it\'s \"nuclear,\" not \"nucular.\"
